I would go with Ryze or Garen, both of whom are cheap, if you are looking for characters that are fairly simple yet can carry harder(more like earlier, really, in garen's case) than Ashe. I'd suggest picking those two up and seeing who you like more and going from there. Tear -> Rod of Ages -> Muramana -> Iceborne Ryze is hilarious for pubstomping and Brutalizer -> Warmoggs -> Black Cleaver -> Sunfire/Infinity Edge is hilarious for pubstomping with Garen. See what fits your playstyle more.

I'd say Annie over Ryze for real beginners. Ryze takes a lot of ability spamming and positioning for his ult/bounces. Annie teaches you to last hit better, is relatively simple, and will destroy teams if you do well.

He said he has been last hitting well, consistently landing ashe arrows, and isn't feeding so I think Ryze would be fine for him and allow him to initiate as well because Ryze builds tanky by default while still dishing massive damage. If Annie is more your taste then by all means, go for it.

Ranked match: First 15 minutes go 6-0 as ahri. Top lane Vi is 0-4. Gank and countergank top 3 times to bring Vi to 4-4(I eased off to give him kills) Vi ends game at 12-4 after getting fed. I end game at 9-2. Everyone congrats Vi on carrying team.

Haha, yup. I've been messing around with support because I'm in a funk with my jungle/top roles. Go 0/0/15 as Taric. Stomped bot lane with a sub par adc then was forced to initiate because our Maoki was a chickenshit. The adc and the maoki on our team are slobbeing the knob of a 5-5-9 Garen at the end of the game. I guess its because he looked manly in the middle of their team as steel legion adaptes astartes.

I just want a change to promotion series. I could have the shittiest luck on the planet, but I have only had 1 good game in a promotion series where my team wasn't mentally handicapped.

Yeah, I am not sure how much I like you needing to go 4-2 to advance a tier or 3-1 to advance a division. Then again, I didn't have any problems when climbing divisions within my tier since the league system so I'm not sure...
I think that ultimately this system just serves to frustrate players more as they are required to win a large percentage of their games to "advance" whereas previously you simply advanced by winning more than you lost.

It rewards troll players at low levels because people will do ANYTHING to win their promotion series games or advancement series games. So kids that say mid or feed and the ones that double mid or refuse to supp are given their way by players looking to escape those players. Then its just a dice roll of if the troll is a good player or not(which 90% of the time its not). Just qualified for another promotion series btw. I can qualify for these things easily. But actually completing them to advance is impossible.

Well, there is no clamping on a promotion series from IV to III, V to IV, III to II, or II to I. Only from I of a tier to V of the next tier, so you should be able to qualify easily for all of your promotion series up to your advancement series in division I. I have to say that I haven't seen that many outright trolls, but I have won a 4v5 and lost a 4v5 since the change. What elo were you last season?

Man i tried 3 to 4 times to get into this , i mean i played the shit out of HoN tried this , no dice...then i played the shit out DotA 2 , tried this again no dice. Not sure what it is , maybe cause this is such a passive bitches game that i just cannot play this garbage.Like what makes you guys enjoy this game , trying to grasp why it has such a large following of fucking drooling retards.The reason for this , cause said fucking retards infest the normal MOBA games , that they think LoL is the way these games are meant to be played. Dont take this as me shitting on you all , its just I dislike this game with a passion and the way its meta game turned out. Complete snail paced garbage , vectors for all abilties and people still fucking cant hit shit with it. Granted never hit 30 to where maybe it has less fucking retards , but i cant see it making that much of a difference.

Under level 30 is god awful. I play with my kids sometimes on a smurf account and it's just comical how bad people are. If that's what you're basing your opinion of the game on, then I'd argue that you haven't really played the game.

PVP is fun. Like other MOBAs, it's a test of 'skill', and also a test of teamwork. There's aspects of LoL that many find more enjoyable than DotA (I like that you can use abilities more often). It's also a bit more friendly to players in many aspects. If someone is doing poorly, the game isn't quite as punishing. I understand a lot of DotA playerslikethat about the game, but for new players it can be a big turn off.


Considering you haven't gotten to 30, I don't know if I can really take your criticism of the meta game very seriously.

1450~ at the end of s2 was where I would hoover. Prior to the announcement of s2 rewards I was around 1550, but elo decay set me back down. Like I said, I must have shit luck. Tonights placement series featured a duo that went jungle mid and both "lagged" as an excuse for them diving with 20% hp against heroes that were on towers with 20% hp. Then game 2 featured a kogmaw that once he got his ult, would spam it till oom and complain he wasn't getting blue buff as adc. He also must have thought he was garen or something, always trying to initiate and running forward at their ADC into bruiser range.

Well thats my point , most people play the game like the pros play the game. They will build their champion like someone from a pro team does. Do the god awful shit of one top 2 bot 1 mid with jungler or 2 mid 2 bot and 1 top and so on. Me being under lvl 30 has fuck all with me noticing that the meta in this game is trash shit. It sucks , the game was fun when it was fresh and new people were doing their thing , playing off their own strengths. Well , me not like this and shitting on this thread is not a good route. But i guess ill try to hit 30 and see how that fairs. I really want to like this game, when i 1st played it when it was released it was rather fun to play now and again. But i play Smite and Dota2 for my fix for these types of games , Dota2 is getting rather stale so guess ill give it one more whirl.

So what you are saying is, you are upset that people emulate players with higher success in order to achieve their own success? Did you play a mmo and use another strat from a guild that has already downed the boss you are on? Or did that make you whine and upset?

I think a pretty big difference of this game, compared to DotA2/Early HoN (disclaimer: stopped playing HoN a long time ago when they moved from straight porting dota champs to creating their own and going F2P) - is that casters actually keep scaling into late game. In Dota2/HoN it's all about the "agi carry" or whatever you wanna call it farming up and raping the team late game, sure there are pro teams that involve pushing strats and whatnot, but lategame I always see caster's go the route of pure utility. Pick up a sheep stick, pick up the whirlwind item, etc etc etc, it's all utility support because in the end its about mass disable only and some fed carry raping shit. I like that in league casters can carry late game just about as hard as an ADC (ranged agility hero basically).

And just to add in as well - the pre-lvl 30 games really blow, it starts to get somewhat better 25+ but really at 30 is where people aren't complete retards. Still, there's a hidden MMR/Elo for normal games so if you do terrible consistently you'll get matched up into the retard bracket. Also, I actually dislike the idea behind rebuys, so the fact that this game doesn't have that is a bonus in my book.
