Solid 9/10 from me.

Walking out of the theater, some chick and her friend were talking behind me and she goes "I'm going to post on tumblr that this is one of my top 10 feminist movies of all time"

LOL, I didnt think the feminism stuff was real. Maybe so.

Why not just get her and Himeo on Skype together?
Because she knows exactly what the red pill and MRA shit is. She's already found her indentured servant. The "What the Fuck's" were for Arrakis benefit.

Haven't seen this movie and I'm not inclined to because of the feminist shit added in. But if you guys enjoyed it, I'll give it a shot.

I thought the ending was perfect. Max is a wanderer, he ain't got time for no armless bitches. Plus, there's the whole fact that his life/journey may just be fables and stories being retold.

Watched it in 3D. Every person in front of me was reaching out and grabbing at the things flying close to your face, especially the guitar. Much like The Road Warrior, I could watch this one over and over. I really hope it does well enough for there to be more. This movie was a lot of fun.

I think the 150 million budget figure doesn't include marketing costs which pushes it closer to 200. At a 44.4 million opening, unless it has great word of mouth (which the audience score isn't indicating -- again, the critics oddly enough love it more than regular moviegoers), it will probably finish at 125-145 domestically. It all depends on the global numbers as to whether this was a financial success.

I think the "actual" price of this movie is close to 100 or less... you all do know this movie started and stopped about 3 times costing a good chunk of money.

I hope it picks up on money to warrent some more as I love anything mad max, global it will deff make money and bluray it will put it over the top.

The 150 mil includes marketing I believe.

Anything close to 50 mil is a big win for an R rated movie. Prometheus was 51 mil and got a sequel and had a similar budget.

Also this should have more lasting power considering the positive word of mouth. It'll be in the black before its theater run is over.

Are there any feminist douchechill moments? Or is Charlize Theron just awesome in it?

No, and thats the thing. Since its just amazing you can say its this or that. If anything I would say its clearly not feminist because(minor spoiler);

max saves her at the end

I reveled in this movies insanity. Awesome visuals. Loved the use of reds and blues in the different scenes.

Did anyone else have a really bad feeling about the movie for the first 5 minutes? I was really thinking about walking out. But I'm glad I stayed.

One major oversight to the movie was that Max should have been Darkman levels of bat shit crazy, would have made this movie regular viewing.

no no no.
he just stabs her with his tool, and then fills her up with his fluids, without her consent.

Really great movie. I told my wife about the men's rights thing and she asked me what men's rights are. I sent her on an internet journey down the MRA and red pill rabbit hole. I've heard two "what the fuck"s so far.
MRA = The Male Equivalent to feminists on the internet.

Pretty much the easiest way to explain it.

It is a bit of the old western man with no name type thing Max is not a guy who will ever again belong to any one place again and keeps moving to keep ahead of his own inner demons although those I think are lessened by the end of the movie and that alone is a victory for him.
