To be fair, Hoss parachutes into every thread with stupid fucking opinions.

LOL bunch of basement dwellers around here getting rustled over an honest review of a mediocre movie. How's it feel that Pitch Perfect 2 is kicking your wet dream's ass at the box office?
No one's rustled here, bro. Calling someone out for either trolling or retardation takes almost no effort at all. I can can literally reply one-handed while I eat my cranberry-apple-walnut muffin and drink my tea.

My pickle's tickled.

Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) - Box Office Mojo= Worldwide: $227,727,720
Pitch Perfect 2 (2015) - Box Office Mojo= Worldwide: $187,438,795

Some Americans simply have worse taste than others.
Guess by that metric John Wick was really awful. Pretty sure MM has had a much earlier, wider global rollout; likewise PP2 doesn't have to deal with an R rating. Using BO numbers to prove a point is pretty stupid for either side when there's so many factors that go in to it.

Also one has to consider a comedy probably has a harder time translating well to foreign languages/audiances than something that is in effect a giant amazing 2 hour car chase. You could watch mad max with no knowledge of english at all or subtitles and still enjoy it.

Well MM had the same release date, and only had a 5% increase in the width of the domestic rollout. I think the relatable aspect of the upper/middle class american comedy vs. ghetto car chase is a bigger factor, but the total dimensions of the foreign release isn't presented.

According to that site PP got triple what MM got in Australia. What the fuck Australia?

BoxOfficeGuru usually has some foreign numbers (not sure where he gets them from):here. 68 markets for MM, 29 for PP2 on release. And yeah, the type of movie has a huge effect.

Australia is the Stalingrad of reality competitions shows.

They have like 4 airings of singing and dancing competition shows every week. Masterchef Australia airs like 4 times every week and the aussies shut the whole country down to watch that or its competitior (My Kitchen Rules---also airs 3 eps a week).

Not surprised they'd love a movie that's essentially about a reality competition show.

But MadMax literally IS Australian cinema history... so sad.

Nice. No I am not jenny on amazon, so don't ask. For anonfag who asked in my comments, I don't know, I haven't seen PP2. We were either going to see Ex machina, Mad Max, or Pitch Perfect 2, and we decided to watch MM (because she likes action movies and you guys overhyped it so much). I only mentioned it because it looked like it had the same release date.

Your wife likes action movies and you don't? Do you also suck her penis?

Hoss has already admitted that his wife didn't like MadMax, and so he's not allowed to like Mad Max either. He's trying to cope with being so whipped by mentally wrestling his memory of the movie he tricks himself into thinking it's bad as he gives forehead kisses to his wife.

Just because you and the woman you beat on a regular basis with the Bible have shit taste, doesn't mean anyone here overhyped the movie.

Yes, she's the action movie fan and wanted to leave halfway into it. I don't like action movies nearly as much and I liked MM, but I thought it was mediocre and way overhyped. How many fucking times do I have to say that? Cause that's pretty much my original review with the words in a different order.

I guess that makes sense if you think mediocre is the same as bad. To me, it means middle of the road. Neither great nor bad.

You've discovered what I discovered in the John Wick thread. If you don't LOVE (not like, not think it average) something the passionately fascist Sean-like-without-realizing-it Rerolled bootsteppers love, you are *literally* the gayest, stupidest, ugliest, most worthless thing that has ever existed in the universe. Heartbreaking, I know.

It's unfortunate that I couldn't troll this thread too as I happened to enjoy MM.

What you discovered in the John Wick thread, is if you go into a movie that most people liked and then proceed to say its mediocre and everyone else's tastes suck, yes, you will get pushback. No shit. I didn't particularly like John Wick either, but I also didn't feel the need to jump into the thread, call it overhyped and mediocre and generally shit on other people's opinions. I didn't like it, most people did, move the fuck on.
