I'm guessing it will spend time setting up an origin that's a new take on what we've seen before, kinda like what Batman Begins did. Honestly, it won't bother me if they do that. The pre-costume stuff looks great to me.

Just a little joke about how stupid the name really is. Similar to them joking about "What would you prefer, yellow spandex?" in X-Men when they all suited up in black leather.
I'm curious to know how long this movie is going to be. Going by the trailers they seem to be covering everything from his departure from his home planet to being raised as a child to Superman and then Zod. Just seems to be a lot to cover in your standard movie length.. or maybe this one is 3+ hours long? I hope they don't rush through it.
never been a superman fan, but that trailer did get me interested. It's good to be ignorant of the original material for once while watching a comic book movie

Lois following the urban legend of this super strong invincible guy traveling through the country as a news story is an interesting lead in for her. Also would assume that means there's no secret identity in this version.

Well if she's just following stories that doesn't necessarily mean she ever finds out his "real" name. She could follow leads all over the country and never get back to Smallville.

Fans can't complain about him not being Superman if its not Superman, but instead S-man. Like, the Nolan movies, where thats not Batman.
And yeah. the Shield is the crest of the House of El. And it does mean hope.

To slightly nitpick, Amy Adams doesn't really shout Lois Lane to me. However, I'm open to her being just fine in the role. I just never would have imagined her in a million years.
Also super glad they got rid of the multiple sonic booms (they've been out for awhile now, but originally they annoyed the fuck out of me and I worried they might return).
Zod is great, special effects look great, Cavill looks great. God I hope this is the movie I've been waiting for.

It looks like they are making it so Krypton is destroyed by the war with Zod. Will be interesting to see if Zod uses weapons or not...Always wondered what a war between Kryptonians would look like, whether it was just them physically beating the shit out of each other or if they had ridiculous weaponry to deal with their powers.
