God, I fucking hate this kinda of journalism. "Nearly missed landing his role due to playing world of warcraft". Yeah, I bet Snyder and the producers were saying something like "Okay, we have this multimillion dollar budget for a movie that can revive DC Comics and we believe we found the perfect actor for the role, let's call him. ....Shit, he's not picking up, let's just find someone else ok."

Well, obviously the headline is overly dramatic, but I think this falls under the jurisdiction of poetic license more than bad journalism. Gaming journalism does leave much to be desired, but there are many taller, more beautiful hills to die on than this one.

So are they not using the original Superman score? Or even an updated but recognizable version of it?
Not sure about everyone else, but the Superman theme just gets the blood going. Was waiting for it in the score clips Fedor posted but alsa... it was not there.

Was listening to that clip too and if I didn't know any better most of it sounded like it came from Two steps from hell instead or got stolen from something like wrath of the titans or something. The new song in trailer 3 could be a good fit for the new theme though - An ideal of hope.

For one reason or another I doubt this will have the 'Superman' theme we are all used to, even though it is pivotal to making the movie great.

I see it like the X-Men theme - had the X-Men movies used the animated series theme song, I guarantee it would have done better in the box office. Music can be everything.

Judging bythisarticle, it looks like we won't be seeing the classic John William's score, which I find very upsetting. IMO, it's among most iconic piece and for me, illicits a sense of nostalgia more than any other.

I don't know about the specifics for this here movie, but, as a general rule, music used in trailers is pre-existing music because, more often than not, the score of the movie is not done by the time the trailers must be completed.

The music from the most recent trailer does not seem to follow this rule from what I can tell.

It seems like nostalgia is the opposite of what they're going for here, which I have no issue with.

Before DC Comics decided to go full retard and reboot the universe badly a couple years back they had a pretty nifty long arc called New Krypton that basically dealt with Kryptonian society after the Kandor citizens get unbottled and take up residence on a manufactured 'new krypton' that shares the same orbit as Earth.

Naturally they ended up making the ultimate cop-out and destroying the place by the end of the whole arc, but it did a pretty decent job of showcasing kryptonian culture and really cast Zod as an anti-hero rather than a malevolent sociopath.

That was a cool arc until they shit the bed with the ending, yes.
