I doubt it lives up to the unrealistic expectations I have set for it, but I am not worried about not liking it. I have been asking for this kind of Superman for years. The critics who want 2 hours of dialog and 30 minutes of action can go fuck themselves. Superman is at his best when he ISN'T talking. Just let him and Zod fuck shit up for a hour and a half and I'll leave the theater satisfied.

I need to stop reading the reviews. It is almost enough to make me start disliking the old movies just out of principal. Some seriously close-minded motherfuckers out there.

They bagged on Superman Returns for not enough action, and now this one has too much. Which is it?

i like amy adams (trouble with curve, the fighter, sunshine cleaning) so she could even possibly be the best woman cast in a comic book movie.
I think she's a great actress, but something about her neck bugs the hell out of me, visually. I can't not stare at its weirdness.

Just got back from seeing this - liked it more than IM3 (which I didn't think was terrible), but it was a good deal worse than The Avengers/TDK. Tons of action though, and thought Cavill did a fine job as Superman. Hard to write him with a great personality (aka impossible), but he definitely wasn't the weak link. For me, it was too fucking long (same complaint I had with IM3). Was kind of itching to jet 20 minutes before it ended if that tells you anything. Worth the price of admission though.

Pacific Rim, please be as awesome as you look.

You realize that when they say "the movie is too serious" it is not that they want tons of jokes and slapstick in it right?

When everyone walks around deadpan and not a smile is given and only seriousness happens like it's Macbeth poorly done by high schoolers that is what they mean by "too serious".

Reeves I don't really like but he had an easy way about him. Farmboy style just likeable. This is what people want as Superman. The complaint about this guy is that he is just a deadpan supermodel and if that is correct then they failed badly and deserve the poor reviews. Superman is supposed to be that down to Earth (hehe punny) kid you grew up with and is awkward as Clark Kent. You put a hunk of a dude into the role and you just have the male version of Wonder Woman in the comics. She doesn't smile, doesn't joke, has no warmth, she just gets the job done. That isn't Superman.

to be fair, thats not exactly WW either. she is basically depicted as "perfect". Murder machine in combat. Most approachable out of it. Its a very common theme for the C-listers to be friends with her, and not really any other members of the A-list league.

Right but she has no charisma with the people.

Intergang would be a pretty great Superman movie "villain" as well.
The complete lack of any imagination in these shows so much.

Just saw it and it's a pretty entertaining movie. Didn't really mind the moodier supes who had a shitty childhood and the fight scenes are amazing. Zod was a shitty character through and I wished they would have shown more about Krypton.

The more negative reviews I read on this movie the more excited I become.

That sounds FUCKING AWESOME.
That is probably the most awesome sounding thing to describe the destruction and carnage in a movie I've ever read. How in any way could that have been used as a negative thing?

Was 2012 a good movie? It had even more destruction than Man of Steel could ever have. Doesn't make it a good movie. Just means it had destruction in it.

2012 was bad because of all the talking. The other criticism of Superman is that there isn't enough dialogue. Thumbs up number two. (b-.-)b

Also let me be clear that I find a movie with a bunch of buildings exploding to be awesome, not the actual September 11th (hi NSA guys).
