Let's be very clear about this. I am nothing like Costanza. If the family "laws" in this country weren't so fucking outrageous and cause for such huge concern I would likely be married by now.

Financial concerns are very literally the only reason I am still single. And it sadly has nothing to do with the women I was dating and everything to do with how fucked up the entire family court system is in the US.

EDIT: Well I guess it has at least a little do with the women I was dating because they made so much less money than me and I was afraid that they could steal my entire livelihood from me if they ever got bored or angry with me.
I mean, what, you never heard of a pre-nup bro?

Prenup doesn't help you from alimony. Source: I think I heard that.
It doesn't help with child support. But it can prevent them from taking your earnings/assets as part of a property division.

You serious? That's pretty much why all my relationships ended. Letting them know I would want a pre-nup. That's what started all the financial arguments that led to the inevitable.

Women are crazy man

On Wednesday night she kept pressuring me to start watching Walking Dead. I despise the show. She just wouldn't let up about how dumb I'm being and "it's the best show according to everyone else." Finally I just said, wahtever I'll watch it leave me alone about it. Then she wanted to watch it that night and I said I wasn't ready yet. She got all huffy puffy and gave me the silent treatment.

Wasn't dealing with that shit so I just went and did my own thing and went to bed. Next day I got home and she was still pissed. I asked her about it and she said she had been "simmering" for the whole day and was extra mad.

All over The Walking Dead... and my refusal to watch it.

The fuck..
Catching up on this thread, but besides her childishness if this is the type of "sacrifices" you have to make you're one lucky man. Usually it's being dragged to the shopping mall, dinner with her friends, or some stupid wedding that are the big issues for me. Expecting me to sit on my ass and watch some show you don't like? That's easy mode stuff. She's not even asking you to watch Bravo! garbage either.

She did try some shows I like, which on it's face you'd say "well you should try her show". But I did, I stopped watching during the 3rd season when I couldn't take it anymore. I also had to sit through The Time Traveler's Wife.
At first I was thinking "just watch a couple of episodes with her, it'll shut her up". But damn, 2 seasons worth and she still won't leave you alone? Lame.

My GF (like all women) liked Downton Abbey. I didn't care much for it, but I'd usually sit with her while she watched it and dick around on my laptop. But it did pay off pretty big
when the head of household puked blood all over the formal dinner with the medical minister.
I don't think she appreciated me reacting with "THAT WAS SO FUCKING METAL!!! AWESOME!!!!!!". Pretty sure that wasn't the sentiment the show was going for.

better yet clothsline her up the stairs, and fuck her retarded.
I lol'd too hard at this. Well played.

Like it's been said a million times. I usually only post about the stupid bad stuff here. In general she doesn't want much, doesn't spend a lot of money (she buys a lot of kindle books for $1 and even asks my permission before she does..), is good looking, and is generally good in the sack. The stuff I have to deal with from her is generally mild.

In addition she's a really great mother (if not a bit neurotic as detailed in the parent thread) and is in love with me.

Occasionally the crazy creeps up and I post it here. Not because I'm thinking "omg gotta get divorced", but I thought it was a funny story.

I get off pretty easy by not having to go shopping all the tie for clothes or hanging with her friends - although one of her friends is a smoke show with huge tits and I always hang out with her when I can.

I have a terrible confession... literally the worst confession ever. My guilty pleasure is Flipping Out on Bravo. I know... all the men are gay and it's about decorating (but it was about flipping houses before). I'll leave my man card at the door.

I mean, thats fine. If a prenup is a precondition for you, you're going to have to accept there's a lot of women who won't like that. Nothing wrong with your idea, IMO, but the other person gets to choose what they want too.

So I understand that in a large majority of the county there are old fashioned, I'm only going to be married once type women, but living in an actual city, I don't think I'm eliminating a giant percentage of woman by requiring a prenup before marriage.

And a prenup would absolutely, without question be a prerequisite for me. Although, I doubt I'll ever get married to begin with.

Prenup is a condition for me too, but that's only because I've watched everyone from my own dad to the poor slobs at work get raked over the coals financially. I'll preface this with a generalization disclaimer, but it also seems like women mind less at using their children as emotional pawns to get what they want. They regret it later, but many tend to get frenzied during the process, both by the emotions of the situation as well as their less than well meaning "friends".

A lawyer at the office that frequently counsels guys going through divorce has a motto "angry women never tap out in divorce".

Thats true, but men tend to be apathetic shit heads and just walk away from their kids completely too.

Are there statistics done on women's reactions to conversations about pre-nups? Anecdotally, mentioning it is like lighting a powderkeg.
