Why do people fixate on the number of people someone has had sex with rather than the aggregate # of times? This was always curious to me. So a chick has banged the same dude 3000 times, but only 1 dude. Second chick has banged 10 dudes, but each one only 20 times. First chick has had 15 times more sex than the second chick, but the second chick would be seen as promiscuous/slutty, while the first probably actually has a much higher sex drive.

Aside from disease (which you can get tested for), whats the deal?

Think of a drink on a table that's mine. Accidentally this other dude takes a very large sip. Oh well, just that guy.. I'll still drink it.

Same drink, this time it goes around the room and 20 guys take very small sips. I probably do not want to drink this drink anymore.

From the woman's perspective at least, the first shows someone that is capable of a long term, monogamous relationship whereas the second may show the opposite.

How a man looks at it may be different though.

Yeah, I think Cad is looking at it backwards.

I don't think it shows anything either way. They could just have gone through a bad phase where they picked shitty partners that they had to curb after short relationships. They could have a drinking problem and make bad decisions, etc... but later on they are perfectly capable of having a long term monogamous relationship.

Conversely people who have had only one partner long term can be emotionally stunted and immature - and vice-versa. I think number of partners is largely immaterial and greatly eclipsed by other factors.

This is just a cute metaphor for disease/cleanliness. Disease can be tested for and I'm assuming the chick has a nice shower or something between dudes.

Oh I agree with you that number is not a big deal, just stating one point of view. For me I'd be more interested in knowing relationship history than sexual partners. As long as they are safe and share the same values in a relationship as me, it's no big deal.

I'm just breaking down the cold reality of women and the how/why of what they do. It really isn't intended as a negative and it's unfortunate that you guys are interpreting it as such.
See, Kirun is just doing us a favor. I feel enlightened.

Kirun, can you also share your wisdom on blacks, gays and other such cultural groups? I'd hate to only be enlightened about women.

Oh right, I know that and you know that as well, but I think there's a mental aspect that goes along with it. Even if all those dudes just brushed their teeth and maybe I had some way of sterilizing my drink, I'd still think "This has been in many a dude's mouth." CANT EXPLAIN THAT

That's normal. What's weird is the way a woman will suck on my dick but not want me to use her toothbrush.
BOUNDARIES, ANCIENT.

It bothers me when a woman has had more sexual partners than I have. The odds are that she knows my dick is small rise too sharply for comfort.

Not in the least.^

High partner count would make me by hesitate.
High partner count on both ends is a red flag, yes.

But a woman at 0 and a man at 0 are also seen completely differently by the opposite sex.

Men see a woman with 0-3 lifetime partners as relatively stable and attractive. 0 isn't a huge red flag as compared to men where it is essentially a death knell for their ability to elicit sex from the opposite sex.

Virgin females are still desireable. Virgin males are never desireable outside of idiotic religious requirements.
