It's not trivial. It's the big unsolvable companies are trying to workthrough. The end to end customer journey is so disjointed and there's no unique identifier. Many companies are trying to solve for it but brands like Facebook actively don't want you identifying who that person is on Twitter. Or what their Reddit user is. Or Tinder handle. Also lol at anyone giving a fuck about Tinder data.
Signed, someone who works in this exact industry for one of those exact companies brands pay a ton of money to in order to solve this problem.

I was just saying Ossoi goes to look at tranny porn, loads a tracking pixel, marketing company associates his ip with their tranny category, then the marketing company either serves its own tranny ads to Ossoi or provides his dating app with a targeting service. Just tranny retargeting really...
No one needs to know that Ossoi is Ossoi to successfully serve him tranny ads. However, the other side to what you've said is that Facebook knows exactly who he is and pretty much every site he's ever visited. Does Facebook run (or has acquired) a dating app yet?

The original issue was Tinder serving up trans "women" and all other kind of gender benders to someone with only "women" ticked in his preferences. But "trans women are women" so you either have to put up with the queer-ness or uninstall the app.
Everyone knows that what you do on other sites is tracked and picked up elsewhere - Facebook serving up targeted ads based on search history and other data is the obvious one.
The one that really confuses me and absolutely shouldn't be possible is Instagram suggesting I follow Linkedin/Business contacts because those two sites/apps should be completely separate from each other.
