Funny you mention that. There have been many, many forehead kisses. We were hanging out on my deck a few weeks ago listening to jazz, motown and blues and dancing and I also sang to her and since I have a pretty good singing voice I guess it's to be expected.

As far as I can tell she isn't a hipster, I'll ask her how she feels about raw denim but I've never seen her wearing it. She is kind of a hipster when it comes to coffee however.

I don't know if you can consider raw denim hipster when Arizona/American Eagle has raw selvage jeans and tons of companies are putting fake selvage seams on their non-selvage pants. At that point you'd think it has become a tad too mainstream for hipsters.

Heh considering I got my first pair of raws 5 or so years ago, yeah probably. But I've always had an odd obsession with denim. Now I just have more disposable income to feed my obsession.

Lets see the history of my raw denim:

#1 -- Nudie Thin Finn Dry Organic Ecru Embro (non-selvage but raw)
#2 -- Nudie Regular Ralf (selvage, all jeans will be raw and selvage from here on)
#3 -- APC New Standard
#4 -- Nudie x Context Slim Jim
#5 -- Samurai VX5000 (This is where the made in Japan obession starts and all are made in Japan from here on. These are also my first jump into unsanforized which I switch back to sanforized for my Momotaro but back to unsanforized after that and continue to only buy unsanforized denim)
#6 -- Blue Owl x Momotaro 008 Stealth
#7 -- The Strike Gold 3109
#8 -- Pure Blue Japan 24-005 (what I'm currently wearing)

I also recently acquired a deadstock raw denim jacket the SExIH18 jacket

raw = unwashed denim
selvage = continuous weft yarn (basically the yarn goes back and forth and creates a "self edge" -> selvage. Non-selvage uses individual yarns for each weft pass.)
weft = horizontal yarn (the "inside")
warp = veritcal yarn (the "outside")
sanforized = jeans were pre-shrunk via sanforization method. Unsanforized denim will shrink ~8-10% on the first wash but is in a rawer state than sanforized raws.

Let me write down the history of my denim:

1. My mom bought me pants until I was about 12. She bought me whatever bullshit pants she found at cheap stores.
2. When I was 12 and had to buy my own clothes I bought them at thrift stores generally.
3. Sometime in the last couple years I bought a few pairs of pants online for like $20 each. One was unwashed aka raw. Only one pair fit because I'm a fatass now and refuse to accept it and get larger pants.

Oops you're right I have the BOM006 jeans. The 008 is the latest release so it was on my mind.

And its just a hobby of mine that I can also happen to wear. Some people spend a thousand bucks every few years to upgrade their computers to play vidya games on ultra extreme 400xAA. I just do the same with denim. Though I agree the PBJ 24-005 I went a bit overboard. But I bought them to celebrate a raise of about 20k so big picture not a huge deal. I was nervous of them never being made again (these are 24 oz variety of their very slubby/interesting denim) since PBJ is kind of changing their operation and had a few drinks and pulled the trigger.
