Friend of mine just finalized his divorce. Family court judge ordered him to vacate the family home and gave custody to his mentally unstable wife who doesn't and hasn't had a job in years and is perfectly happy collecting money from the gubmint. Dude is a dedicated father who lives his whole life to take care of his son. Makes my blood boil.

I don't understand how a judge can make that decision based upon those facts. Did his lawyer not mention that she was lazy and crazy? I thought most states had moved away from the mom bias.

This could be the case. But let's assume Beagle is telling the truth. What is likely is that the acrimonious divorce made both parties look "crazy" because they were so pissed off at each other. Since Beagle is in TX, throw in some southern state mother bias & female crazy wins.

One thing divorce attorneys stress to guys is never sink to her level if she is acting out. Let her look insane while you come off composed and reasonable. Even if she does seriously fucked up stuff, like accuse you of abuse or abusing the kids with no basis; let the lawyer do his work and remain calm (or at least try to appear calm). It's the key to winning, and you are literally fighting for your quality of life.

According to planned parenthood, statistically 2 out of 100 women will get pregnant each year whose partners use condoms, if they ALWAYS do it correctly. The same statistic is 4 out of 100 for withdrawal (pull out method) if they always do it correctly.

I think the method of getting pregnant if you successfully pull out is via pre-ejaculate, but if you don't do this (I don't, at all, no idea why, never have) then I don't see how you'd get pregnant. I've been doing pull-out for almost 20 years now and no unwanted children. I do, however recognize that if we do get pregnant, it's ok.

Yeah, I couldn't find the study I saw but wikipedia lists condoms at 2% failure rate and coitus interruptus at 4%. I could swear that the study I saw the other day showed them being equal but in any case, the pull out method is not a ridiculous plan. The downside is that you have to have enough self control to actually get it out of there in time.

Wife just had a kid, we want more but health wise doctors suggest not getting pregnant for 18 more months. We're struggling to decide what to do for contraception because we hate all the options. Pulling out worked for us for years though. I feel like that's the direction we'll go because we're lazy.
