But yeah, that's pretty true. The best female gamer I know I would describe as competent. She's a contributor when we do multiplayer stuff rather than someone who gets dragged along. The rest have all been "LOL I HAD MARIO WHEN I WAS A KID" then proceed to bumblefuck their way to death 20 times in the tutorial, followed by facepalm and transitioning to any other activity for the love of fucking god.

On the PS4 it is so easy too, just hit the Share button on the controller, hide the Twitch UI and she's off. I could even secretly turn on my headset mic.

The only plus side is if a girl has big hooters she can stream on twitch and earn a better wage than I do.

Your wives all suck I guess. My wife is playing FO4 survival side by side with me (two TVs in our BR plus one for TV) and is making me go to the gaming con on Valentines day weekend. She won't play the broke dick hard games, but she like playing group StarCraft and numerous competitive board and miniatures games. I don't really know how anyone marries someone who is not also their best friend, but then again here is this thread so......

Well, my wife is into Disney, which I am not since I am straight, over 14, and have a penis. I am also into WW2 type shit she has zero interest in, as well as Souls games and fighting games. So we do have a couple of things we are into on our own. As for time apart, well work tends to do that to a large degree. I guess I just don't understand people who get hitched to someone who does not share their interests and then act surprised when the shit does not work out. At the end of the day, I just don't get what a couple like that would talk about. Short term getting your dick wet when you are younger relationships, yeah I totally get that it does not matter. But if you are in for the long haul, you are going to get really fucking bored of each other fast (or worse be in a lopsided relationship) if you don't have common interests.

Basically this. I know plenty of happily married couples, not least of which are my parents, that don't have a shitload of hobbies that they partake in together continuously. Not all marriages or LTR's have to look the same. The video game talk mirrors what I've found with a lot of my friends and skiing/snowboarding. For those who have a significant other who is close in ability to them, yeah, it's great. They always have someone to ride with! For those who have a SO who is way worse than them, but who still enjoys the sport and feels left out if they get ditched to ride with people who are actually fun to ride with, it's a constant source of friction in their relationship.

I think it's important to have some shared interests, no question. If you never spend time doing shit together that's not healthy for a relationship. But it doesn't automatically follow that any healthy LTR must consist of the couple doing nearly everything together at nearly all times.

I stopped running outside with my wife because she runs at like 5 mph with constant breaks and I can cruise at 7 mph for a really long time. So we'd go but I'd just take off anyways because I'm not lollygagging behind with her. We did one of those obstacle course things (white people alert) and my god she was so terrible at it I couldn't enjoy myself at all. On one of the obstacles I had to literally pick her up and throw her over it because she said it was impossible.
