The other thing people seem to forget is that the fall season runs from some time in September to some time in May. That's give or take 36 weeks. The longest episode run for a network show is about 24 episodes, usually 22 or so, but let's use 24. That's still at least 12 weeks of reruns. Even if you take 1 at Thanksgiving and 3 at Christmas/New Year, that's still 8 weeks you have to take off. So they plan them around other shit that typically kills ratings...like the Olympics. That's how it has been for years, I never understood why people seem to think it is suddenly something new when they notice it for a show they like (or don't like if you're Astro).

By the way, I wasn't saying I liked it. I was just pointing out that this has been going on for at least as long as you and I have been watching television (which is a long fucking time as you know), so it amazes me when it comes up every year. I would prefer they run straight through all their episodes too (maybe a week or two off around the holidays) and then just throw their scrub shows on for a month or two in the spring/summer where I can just avoid it all together, but I'm also too lazy to go picket in front of the studio offices to get it changed, so I'll just deal with it.

I blame the age of spell check, when I was young we got our hands swatted for spelling shit wrong. Not really but for some reason I'm pretty sure people seem to suck at spelling more nowadays.

I certainly know how it is spelled, that's why I put it in quotes. I'm assuming Astro did the same, but I don't understand the comment since I didn't see anyone use it on him.

Is there like, a crazy amount of evidence that Skye is the Clairvoyant's daughter? I really haven't paid too much attention to stuff like that but this nerd seems convinced and he's way in to picking shit apart.

i have not seen too much story into Skye's origin cept the stuff about her coming from a small village that died to protect her. im sure they dropped other hints i missed and the supernerds like charlie picked up

theory looks solid, or it could be that the flower dress girl, really is the clairvoyant, who is really loki. why do i say this? for some unexplained reason in recent years, they really seem to like to gender bend/change loki into a woman. After ragnarok (asgard dying or some shit) loki came back as a female, then (i think) he possessed sif or soul trapped her in an old body while he took her young asgard body? either way he's a woman, then he impersonated the scarlet witch for a while (i forget why)... Hell for the better part of 5 years loki was female. only recently was he reborn as a male kid loki (and i think they only did this cuz thor 1 was around the corner in 2011) so they don't confuse audiences when they pick up a thor comic and wonder why thor's evil brother is a girl.

Fem loki was really popular. Yeah, he stole Sif's body.
Part of his character has always been a bit loose with such things. Even his Norse myth roots. Thor's horse Sleipnir is Lokis child. Gods hire a builder to build a wall around Valhalla. They give the builder 3 seasons to do it with the help of no man. Builder asks for allowing his horse to help. they agree, with Loki's influence. The horse is mighty, and the builder nearly manages to finish. Gods get pissed that the builder is actually managing to finish the job on time, and that they will actually have to honor their debt. And tell Loki that its his fault, and they will kill him, if he does not find a way to cause a way for the builder to fail.
Loki turns himself into a female horse, goes to the stable of the horse, and lures it out into the night. The builder fails. Thor comes and kills the builder.
And Loki later gives birth to an 8 legged horse. haha. Norse gods are assholes.


I think Sky might be Valkyrie. Its not a very good characterization of her or anything.

Valkyrie would be neat. It would allow, if the show picks up steam mind you and last for several more years, for a Defenders tie in down the line.

We all know they want to do Dr. Strange at some point too. Valkyrie was on of the Defenders with Dr. Strange so in theory, if she were to be Valkyrie, they could introduce Dr. Strange on the show.

Time will tell, but all in all I am liking the Loki angle.

I'm putting money down on the Clairvoyant being someone who was (off screen) affected by Loki's mind-changing scepter-staff, and never mentally rebooted. They were pretty explicit in that film about how people who got brain-zapped were seeing "future" events, or relevant targets to their goal. There were plenty of people working on the portal project, after all, and who's to say what other plans Loki set into motion that we don't know about?

I'd be happy with Loki, but not so happy with Skye as Valkyrie. I just don't see it, no matter what rationalization they use. On top of that, if they actually did it, and went ahead with something like a Dr. Strange movie, that means she could possibly play a role in it. While that would help the continuity, and I don't hate her as much as most of the people here do, is she really the tie-in character you want? I mean Skye herself, not just the Valkyrie part. I sort of doubt they'd make her something so big that she'd merit a role in one of their movies. But, I could be wrong. I'd still be disappointed if she's Valkyrie just on general purposes because she looks and acts nothing like I picture Valkyrie.

Of course, this is probably where someone links the Ultimate Valkyrie that is a Taiwanese ladyboy or something equally ludicrous.

Ultimate Valkyrie started as a sort of superhero fangirl with no actual powers. Joined a team of like-minded losers to make The Defenders. Then in Ultimates Volume 3 she suddenly had powers but had no idea why or how. I didn't stick around for the explanation because Volume 3 was one of the worst things to ever happen to a pretty good series ever.

EDIT: Knowing nothing of any super heroes other than the mainstream ones, my reference to a Valkyrie comes from Lost Girl. They should add Tamsin to the show rather than make Skye into one. Then again, they can't add such a powerful version of a Valkyrie to SHIELD, as it would invalidate every other team member. They could add Kenzi though. All shows should have a Kenzi.
