Some of the things that make the show good now are the result of exposition in the earlier episodes (mainly character identities, backgrounds and relations). I would watch it all or at least read some good plot summaries for the episodes.

Maybe everyone told them not to watch it until they go see Capt America.
This. I'd actually be pissed if I saw this episode before watching the movie. And I didn't see the movie until last night, so I didn't watch the episode until today. What will be telling are the rating for the finale. By then, most people (that are going to) should have seen the movie and caught up on their DVR. If they're still pulling in a ~2 for the finale, I don't know if that justifies the budget and timeslot.
With how much money they're making on the movies, I could see them forcing a 2nd season anyway just hoping people pick up the show after hearing all summer that "it got really good at the end!"

Good follow-up episode. Surprised Hydra got a hold of so much ultra tech, including the zerker staff, gravitonium, and the Red Skull laser. Raina seems to have more regrets about Coulson getting fucked over than Ward does, at least on the surface. Preview for next week seems to suggest Skye finds out the truth about Ward.

Good show tonight.

Typical Fury. Secret base in the middle of no where with everything you need to restart SHIELD on a smaller scale. Garrett being part cyborg is an interesting twist. Seeing how they freed all the Fridge's prisoners and took tons of tech, the team will be busy the rest of the season chasing that stuff down. Leads me to believe that Garrett will be back next season since this was supposed to be his last episode this season.

if only AOS had started with the pilot episode and kept that pace instead of 15ish eps of bleh, and now it's ramping up. hell it was more enjoyable to watch garret and ward in a high tech candy store (and have better chemistry than garret and triplet, maybe triplet just sucks as an actor) than coulson and his frozen base of boredom.

I think that was there point tho, to set you up for what happens after the Captain America movie.
The creators of the show explained it in depth way before that Movie came out. They told us their plan.

It's plays out like every Joss Whedon show. People hate the start, and its gets amazing towards the middle, and final acts.

So I guess we know a lot of things now. Garret was definitely the Clairvoyant. Ward is 100% with Hydra, and that means Hand is dead.
Hydra has Graviton now, and just released more people with powers out of the Fridge. I wish I knew exactly who came out of that hole in the wall.

Garret is metal just like in the comics, and Talbot from the Hulkbusting unit just decommissioned Shield.

and a couple of very fun Easter eggs for Marvel Comics fans - including the first hint that this Garrett is indeed a cyborg, like the character is in the comics, and a namedrop of an adventure involving the freaking Griffin ("Johnny Horton"), a character who's about as out there as you can get.
A moment of the show that was absolutely retarded was how the fuck did they let anyone into that compound with a cell phone, and then they let her use it?
Come on writers think of something more clever to get Ward back with the team.

One thing I just realized after reading a breakdown of tonight's episode is that May clearly tells Coulson that Fury doesn't know if Hydra is controlling his actions, yet Furys direct orders were to tell Colsoun, Maria Hill, and Sharon Carter that he was alive.

So what is May hiding? Because if Fury truly believed that he wouldn't have given Coulson that information, and May tells Skye a completely different story.

Also Evil Ward is fucking great, he killed more Shield Agents this episode pretty much making him un redeemable at this point.
I also like that recap of all the events he manipulated through the season.

i guess im not on board with the whedon plan of 15 episodes of shit before it gets good. ward and garret are indeed awesome together, i think i would like a Agents of HYDRA show better than a SHIELD show. the way ward turned is still irking the fuck out of me. why would Hand wait til they are on the plane and give ward a chance to shoot garret for no reason. they could have fucking done that back at the hub and saved themselves a trip. oh well, i guess i have to forget that part and just enjoy the HYDRA show. i hope they win.

Coulson would have never condoned a cold blooded execution, so capping him at The Hub would have been a non-starter.

Just saw last nights ep. havent seen cap america 2 or anything past episode 3/4 of this season.. deff intiresting and I think I am off to see about watching cap america 2- I did enjoy the 1st movie.

So when we where complaining that the guy, turncoat- brock mcchistle or whoever he is was a shitty actor..now they literally can say "he WAS acting AS A SHITTY ACTOR! Get it?!" hehe, he seemed more at home being an evil QQ bad guy saved me backstory guy than a sheild dude

Any thoughts to Agent Tripplet being a turncoat for HYDRA?
So he gave Simmons a knife and explained if she attacks him then she's against him..BFD she couldn't hurt him with the knife if she tried. He hasn't done anything in my mind to justify being on the Bus. The whole, they make you think they're a friend thing and fooling one of the most gullible of the team "Simmons" doesn't seem that hard. Now he knows the secret bunker location, seems abit convenient. Also evil ward is better than good ward (by design? )

I don't think Tripplet is a double agent because he could have killed them all many times.

I think he was assigned to work with Garret, and just got caught up in everything.
Now Fitz may want to kill him, because he took his girl hehe

Them knowing the base is all Skyes fault, and Shields for letting her use a cell phone in a top secret facility. That part still makes no sense.

They didnt like triangulate the cell call or anything, she told him where to go and how to get there etc- and that would have happend regardless of her useing the cell phone... so there is no way that hydra does not know where that base is so its going to have to be scrapped soon.

I don't think you get it tho. She brought in a cell phone, and was talking to the outside right in front of the compounds manager.

He even comments on it then just brushes it off. Eh????

How would Hydra know where they were without Skye talking to the outside??

I agree that a compound of that nature, esp in the current situation would have absolutely a zero com situation... but I was mostly saying- for plot device, one way or another he was going to be communicated to and told where to go-- i would have thought the place would have a little EMP door that just zaps everyones electronics as they come in :p

She was using the secure line cell that Hand gave to Coulson. It wasn't just some random phone. Remember, Coulson gave it to Skye so she could check up on Hand/Ward.

That nerd agent likely knows all about agent Ward and wants him to come to the secret shield base so they could capture him and find out about Hydra. if not, then thats probably going to end up happening even if he doesnt know Ward is with them beforehand.
