I think that was there point tho, to set you up for what happens after the Captain America movie.
The creators of the show explained it in depth way before that Movie came out. They told us their plan.
It's plays out like every Joss Whedon show. People hate the start, and its gets amazing towards the middle, and final acts.
So I guess we know a lot of things now. Garret was definitely the Clairvoyant. Ward is 100% with Hydra, and that means Hand is dead.
Hydra has Graviton now, and just released more people with powers out of the Fridge. I wish I knew exactly who came out of that hole in the wall.
Garret is metal just like in the comics, and Talbot from the Hulkbusting unit just decommissioned Shield.
and a couple of very fun Easter eggs for Marvel Comics fans - including the first hint that this Garrett is indeed a cyborg, like the character is in the comics, and a namedrop of an adventure involving the freaking Griffin ("Johnny Horton"), a character who's about as out there as you can get.
A moment of the show that was absolutely retarded was how the fuck did they let anyone into that compound with a cell phone, and then they let her use it?
Come on writers think of something more clever to get Ward back with the team.
One thing I just realized after reading a breakdown of tonight's episode is that May clearly tells Coulson that Fury doesn't know if Hydra is controlling his actions, yet Furys direct orders were to tell Colsoun, Maria Hill, and Sharon Carter that he was alive.
So what is May hiding? Because if Fury truly believed that he wouldn't have given Coulson that information, and May tells Skye a completely different story.
Also Evil Ward is fucking great, he killed more Shield Agents this episode pretty much making him un redeemable at this point.
I also like that recap of all the events he manipulated through the season.
