The scene

I couldn't see Raina's face in the one scene but I think that's just my monitor and/or the clip quality. It's at ~50 seconds and a pretty clear shot that's supposed to be showing something other than some falling dust.

I linked it recently but if you are looking for theories and insights and stuff the subreddit for the show is a great resource.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. - With great power, comes a ton of weird crap

Also I fuckinglovedSkye just shooting the shit out of Ward. As obnoxious as the character was initially they've done a good job on her.

Feels kind of weird to say, but the show is just actually good TV now. I no longer feel the need to defend it or make excuses.

edit: Oh and the greatest loss of the show is no more of the new but amazing running joke of Koenig fucking with Trip. That shit was killing me.

Seriously, that subreddit is a treasure trove for people digging=P

edit more: Someone pointed out that when Coulson shot Whitehall it was the second time he's got the drop on the big baddie and just fucking smoked them instead of talking and shit. He did the same to Garrett at the end of Season 1. Clearly Skye has learned from him.

Coulson rules. Also Whitehall is definitely not dead.

Ya I really wish Trip would have stayed around I liked him more than Mack, but like ya'll mentioned, someone had to go. I am interested to see where it goes though.

Fitz should have died really, but he's much more interesting so I'm glad they kept him. Also his speech thing wasn't nearly as bad. I think they're having him come out of it slowly. I think they killed Tripp b/c he's competition for Simmons. At least he goes out a hero this way.

Loved the Winter Finale, but I might be the only one who is a little bit trepidatious about the fact that Skye's transformation turns this into a Super Hero show now. It wasn't executed perfectly first season, but I like the idea of SHIELD as a spy agency that occasionally ventures into the Supernatural.

How much do you see it as changing the show as a whole? A lot of the premise at the onset was that these were "normal" people on the ground floor with folks with superpowers, but now with one of the main cast having superhuman abilities, how does that change the show going forward?

Whedon: One of the things that we're focused on doing is treating it realistically in terms of, yes, this is an organization of people who have dealt with people like this for a long time, but this is personal. What does it mean when one of your own turns? And not only that, because it's an emotional situation for her, and she doesn't totally understand what's going on, and because it was tied to all this dark, Hydra stuff, and stuff with her father, and Raina -- it might not sit well. We're going to walk her through the steps of discovering what this really means, and coming to terms with it. All that stuff is really interesting to us, and in television, because we have time to explore, we can take her origin on all sorts of different paths. We're excited about it. But we aren't going to turn into a show where there's a new person with powers every week.

Tancharoen: We're going to focus on Skye, and how that affects the people around her, and how the relationships may shift. Because we've seen through the course of our series so far; we've spoken about how S.H.I.E.L.D. treats gifteds or views them, and they're categorized, things like that. What does that mean when one of your own is now considered someone with an ability? How do you categorize her?
To me, they're not turning it into a super-villain of the week type show. More of the same SHIELD vs Hydra, but now with Inhumans more out in the open rather than being a driving mystery.

Yeah, I read that. Just because it's not going to be a super villain of the week show doesn't necessarily allay my fears. The Daisy Johnson show is even less appealing unless it's handled very well.

True, especially given we have Inhuman Raina and now the eyeless guy + his parter on the phone, the super villain vibe could definitely be played up a notch.

In the very least, we'll have Agent Carter to give us more spy stuff until March (which is so f'ing far away)

I'm sure she wont get control of her powers for a while so she won't be blowing up bad guys left and right for fear of causing collateral damage. I wonder if this means she will get a cameo in the new avengers. Seems like there are enough robots to go around for her to shake a few up

For all we know they are setting her up for Civil War. She could be the one who sparks a natural disaster or she could be "spider-man" because Skye is just a handle name. On another side you have this Inhuman royal family out there and she could be SHIELD's way in or she could be shunned by them opening up a moral story of racism. I'm sure whatever they do will be good. Fury will get involved at some point too I'm sure. Marvel is hitting it out of the park in my opinion.

Marvel films are hitting it out of the park. Agents of SHIELD isn't a bad show, it's had a few great episodes, but it's very far from must watch.

If they follow shield's protocol then skye should be locked up in a small room for studying. Coulson as new director may not do that, but if skye cant control her powers then he may have to isolate her. Thats where calvin comes in.

Coulson has abolished lots of shield stuff like levels and shit, he's also going on missions and taking on mr hyde mma style. Which we all know is silly, he's not just captain picard having fun with his away team, he's the 8 star general of the whole federation, or whatever rank is supreme.

Plus at this point skye/quake is a shield agent, personally trained by the calvary, can sniper rifle a teen her age, is able to go hand to hand with a top shield agent turned hydra and can pop off 3 shots into ward and move on real quick. She can't shoot daddy, but really, who could. She's an asset at this point with powers, much like how in the horrible season 1, they tried to use black deathlok, and he was as dumb as bricks with limited shield training.

Man it was so hard for me to be in marvel in the mid 2000's. You have a new director of shield, white 20 something short haired brunette named Maria Hill in a shield outfit, then you have white 20 somwthing short haired brunette named Daisy, sometimes in a secret avengers outfit or shield outfit.

at least now it's a white shoulder length older woman vs. a 20 something long haired half and half.

The only place I want to see her outside of this tv show is doing porn or raping me. Other than that don't fuck up a good movie with a shitty actress who plays a shitty shield agent.

To your credit, the calvary is a better nickname than the cavalry!

As for Skye, I must say I enjoyed her character a lot more in the first season. The 'average person discovering a secret world' thing worked well and she had the opportunity for some happy go lucky stuff and some comedy that the actress carried well. This season it was all 'super spy' or 'boo boo daddy' which was a lot less entertaining (except when she shoots Ward as soon as she can!). So I am a bit worried about super-hero Skye.
