I took 4 semesters in drafting in high school. 2 semesters was all hand drawing and then 2 semesters vocational CAD classes. I was offered an internship out of high school, but I didn't want to pursue it in a career and let my buddy have the spot. I think he still works for the same company.
Man,we didn't have anything like that. Think it's something I would have latched onto given the opportunity.

That's pretty cool, though. Hopefully they still offer it to kids today.

I was the first class in for CAD when I took it. I know the buildings are still there and still in use.

When I was still in school , CAD was a thing that took a specialized PC and that goofy mouse with the eyepiece and all the buttons. My brother took classes for it in the local community college. Definitely use it or lose it though, when I taught myself how to use CAD (pirate copy but I bought the 'how to' book) he was useless for help. Now I'm not even sure how to turn the damn program on LOL.

Also, guess I derailed the hell out of this thread.

Was going to say, we did drafting in shop class...in middle school.

Guess times are a changing.
Yeah, I used a T-square because I was incapable of drawing a straight line. Still am all these years later .

I'm intrigued by this movie, after seeing the trailers. Only movie this year that has really interested me, outside of Romulus. Getting some serious Bioshock vibes from the movie.

Also, I have no Earthly clue what this movie is about from the trailers. It looks more like a mock-up of a trailer, with like a zillion stars in it and no really clear thread besides "Big things are happening! Here's another guy you know!"

It also looks super political, with all the "TAKE AMERICA BACK" on the last ad I saw, but I have no clue whatsoever which side it's on or if it even takes a side. Getting a "communist worker's rebellion" vibe from it but it also has Jon Voight who is probably the most Openly MAGA actor in Hollywood who still gets any kind of roles. Also the media seems to be downplaying the movie and being critical towards it right out of the gate which of course usually means one thing.

Well, I'll probably see it, even though I have absolutely zero idea what I'm sitting down to watch. I hope it's as Bioshock-like as it appears and I hope it takes some chances and ruffles some feathers if it gets political.

The reviews I’m seeing are all love or hate, with little in between. The only IMAX showings near me are 9PM, f that. I might go see it in a regular theater tomorrow.

I was going to post that he has no evidence that we ever had matriarchal societies and most apes are patriarchal.

But then I realised that he's describing African American society, where a lone male fertilises multiple females who raises the kids alone or with other female relatives. It's working out great for them.

Women were ignored while men fought each other over who was the one to impregnate them, control society and generally make decisions for the group as a whole.

That's pretty much the definition of a patriarchal society. How can you see his point when he literally only has retardation to bring to the table?
