Sounds like this game might be the biggest JRPG in a long time or even ever. Hope this makes Square consider a big budget turned based FF game again.

Eneba has keys for that too, roughly the same price as the Steam version from Fanatical.

In for the PC version of the 35th Anniversary edition. Gives me Ni No Kuni II vibes, which I loved loved loved.

Is the UI something you get used to as you play? All the clips I see from it seems very busy UI wise, like Persona 5 I guess. I have not pleayed either so not sure if its better once you are ingame.

Like most games you kind of tune it out once you know your button sequences and what you need to do. Spam X for auto attack, Y if you know you want to cast a spell. L3 if you just want to auto battle and not even worry about it. There’s also a lot of QoL shortcuts to get you right where you want. D-Up to go to save, D-down to go to the compendium, etc. Saves a lot of time and works well.

Close to the end now, great game. Will give full thoughts once I wrap up the story. Some of the late game archetypes are straight up busted

From the last week of June on, pretty much every action you take to pass time while traveling long distances (spend time with follower, read a book, etc.) can give +3 instead of +4 if you pick the wrong answers. Plus there's the Fabienne cooking quest at the very beginning of the game that gives you +2 wisdom instead of +3 if you mess with her recipe.

Was doing a boss, wanted to start again from the beginning of the "timer"

Holy shit do NOT select the "Return to beginning of hideout operation" option, it took me back like 5 days and I lost 2 hours of grinding and killing a boss bounty monster AND autosaved.

I should have saved more but damn, why the fuck doesn't that option give more warning.

That's crazy, haven't seen that yet!

I just did the big sandworm Homo Butero or whatever for Bardon and that was probably the toughest fight to date. Lots of AoE attacks and decently high damage. Basically boiled down to inheriting blizz on everyone and having Hulk AE heal each round.

Started this finally. It's great but I think they went a little overboard with the UI and everything flashing constantly. Even compared to P5 it's a lot.

Between this and Clair Obscura in a few months (which I expect to also do very well), turn-based is making a comeback in a major way. I'd like it if Square got the message and moved back away from junk like FF15 and FF16 May Cry. I like DMC but I also like FF and don't need one to become the other any more.

Clair Obscur looks really promising but it is a $50 game. Which makes me wonder why a game that looks so good would be a budget title.

Only thing I am starting to get annoyed with are the dust particles (snowy object dots) flashing around in dungeons all over. Makes it hard to see. Especially when I am looking for levers to pull.

Also, fuck the Shadow Boss baby before the actual baby.

You can hold down L2 when you're looking for secret passages and stuff to interact with. It also highlights mimics in red.
