Mist take the new job even if its a contract, you'll make more money and if you do a good job you will be kept on. Even if its a set term you have months to find something else after that.

Employers show zero loyalty towards their low level staff you should show zero loyalty towards them. Take your two week notice and do the bare minimum and then start your life.

What these guys said is, "I don't get paid enough to deal with your stupid woman issues even when I'm the one who has directly caused them. I don't want to do my job, so how about you go back and do yours instead?"

They probably hate their jobs as much as you do. But here's the thing... they're getting paid better, and they have responsibilities to you which they refuse to meet. The only thing keeping you at that place is fear.Which is actually a perfectly sensible motive!But don't lie to yourself and think it's something else. The only thing at the end of that lie is even worse misery. If you can reconcile to those facts, then maybe do. They're never going to give you anything except for a pat on the head and a run around though. If it was 30 years ago, they might have given you a slap on the ass... but no, femenists have had to go and take away all our simple pleasures.

The evil part of me wants to go to the free 3 sessions of therapy for the EAP, then stop going once I have to pay for it myself. Then I'll let them try to fire me for not complying with their mandatory EAP under no legal grounds. I'd make my discrimination case to HR then, then let them try to fire me, then sue them for both ADA discrimination and gender discrimination.

But I won't actually do that. I'll probably just stay here and tolerate the job for another few months, then go find a new job at the university and bum my way through my PHD like the original plan. This 1-year foray into the private sector will just be chalked up to an instructive education in the real world I've tried to avoid my whole life.

The fact that you do not know this and are eager to jump back into college for more non-STEM training pretty much cements you as a sheltered emo fucktard who never grew out of feeling sorry for yourself. You are the architect of all of your own problems precisely because you want to feel sorry for yourself. Man the fuck up (or butch up if we are still pretending you are not a mangina) and actually engage the real world.

My point is, if I'm not going to get a raise on merit, what exactly is the point of being in the private sector when there's plenty of WAY easier jobs in the public sector for the same shit pay?

Metrics wise, I am producing 3-4x the work of my peers, and received an award from upper management who shouldn't even know my name at this point, because I provide a high degree of communication to management on every sensitive issue for every sensitive customer that I handle. And yet, they won't even give me a raise up to the point of what they're giving male new hires on my own team?

At this point, since I'm quitting in the next couple months anyway, maybe it is in my best interest to go above my immediate bosses' heads and ask for a position more commensurate with my experience and education. I'm pretty sure my immediate bosses just want me stuck here because I do most of their work for them.
