Were our predictions on FoH or MN? I don't see them in this thread.
NL East:
Nationals are the biggest surprise with how lackluster they've been this season. I thought Philly would've been better, but Atlanta on top looks about right. Still way off on predictions about Washington.
NL Central:
The Cardinals always find a way to get it done, but I feel they will be coming back to Earth eventually. They've been on a statistical anomaly when it comes to team hitting for over a month. I expect them to regress beyond the mean after the break. The Pirates started out hot and don't look like they are as susceptible to a meltdown like last year. You never know with that curse franchise though. I want to say I thought the Reds would be better, but that's ridiculous. They've had the second best record in baseball the majority of the season. I'm just bitter they haven't been in first in the division.
NL West:
Dodgers, as everyone thought could happen, have been plagued by injury. But this Cuban guy named Puig got brought up to replace hurt guys and brought new life to the team and have finally managed to tie their biggest win streak of the season of a measly three games. WTF Goldschmidt for Arizona. Guy is killing it. Offensively that whole team is getting it done and they're one of the better dramatic walk-off finishers in the league right now. This division is a mess really with so many teams being close to each other. Dodgers were my favorite at the beginning of the season and they're on the bottom right now. Fuck the Giants.
AL East:
Division is similar to the NL West with so many teams beating the shit out of each other. I could see this being very fun down the stretch. I think I predicted the Orioles to come out on top in this division - even with the Toronto offseason acquisitions. Blue Jays are obviously falling short of expectations, but in light of that 11-game win streak, I could see them going on a tear post-All-Star break. They've already battled back to a winning percentage. Boston has been a huge surprise. I didn't expect the rebuild to be so successful in only one season.
AL Central:
Worst division in baseball. Everyone in the world would predict Detroit to run away with it; and while it looks close sort of maybe now, I don't expect it to look anything like this by season's end.
AL West:
The Angels are another team falling drastically short of expectations. I guess money doesn't always buy you championships. A's and Rangers will be the only relevant teams here - which surprises me. I guess the Rangers really do have a badass farming system. The A's were my favorite for this division with the Angels battling until the end. Even though it this early in the season, the Angels are a fucking mess. I don't see them going anywhere. It's a shame the last series of the year isn't between the Rangers and A's. That was an exciting finish last year.
