I phrased that poorly, their overall record never dropped below .500. They were pretty awful for the second half of June but they started the month strong enough to finish at 14-13, they remained awful well into July and the five game winning streak they ended the month on only brought them up to 11-13. From August 1 to September 10th they were 17-18 but Judge's home run drought was a pretty small part of that and during the 16 games he went without a homer they went 8-8 so I was overestimating how much his slump had to do with the overall team performance. When was it? I don't recall them being under .500 all year
got it - that makes senseI phrased that poorly, their overall record never dropped below .500. Also I recall some people bringing up Judge playing defense as an argument in his favor during the squabbling over him vs Ohtani but isn't Judge one of the worst center fielders in the league? Seems like his stats would be more pristine as a DH like Ohtani except from a team perspective Stanton would probably be even worse defensively. I don't know the whole roster situation but it looks like Judge was playing much better at the beginning of the season and started to fall off hard later, would the other two outfielders actually be worse or is it a pride/poor management thing? Seems like letting him rest in left field would be better for both him and the team.
No one gives a fuck about your faggot team

Jose has been one of the game's most underrated players for years. He's having a great year, but yeah. Both leagues have absolute behemoth seasons going on for their respective MVP frontrunners.I am clearly biased but Jose Ramirez is at 38HR/382B/40SB with three to play - all for a team that is half a game back of home field advantage in the AL and was predicted by many to finish below .500 - how is he not a legitimate MVP candidate?
I agree completely, well said BlitzyboiJose Altuve has been one of the game's most underrated players for years. He's having a great year, but yeah. Both leagues have absolute behemoth seasons going on for their respective MVP frontrunners.
By underrated do you mean 'not rated because he is literally under your field of view'?I agree completely, well said Blitzyboi
yeah I get it - I know he isn't going to win and I am ok with that - I just wish they would include him in the conversation cause all you hear is Judge and then occasionally you hear about distant second Witt Jr and he deserves the talk too.Jose has been one of the game's most underrated players for years. Fun bit of trivia to really rub it in: the previous record of 120 losses was set in 1962 right after the schedule was lengthened to 162 games so fans of this misbegotten travesty of a franchise can't even use the different season length as cope. Also the 1962 Mets at least have the excuse of being a first year expansion team.
