lol no.But Jones solidified his legacy as the best fighter of all time.
I didn't even watch and had no doubt that he would crush the latest can he was offered. You’re just “mad”
Last night we watched what could be the GOAT but squandered so much time of his career and talent that his case weakened a lot, come out with a beer gut and beat up a 42 year old man that hasn’t won a fight in over 4 years.
this was just Dana making his own super fight for money. Seriously how does Stipe get this fight when his last match in2021 was a loss. Lose into a title fight? It was just Dana trying to pad Bones stats with a win over a big name.
now jones won’t commit to fighting the interim champ and might retire or fight another weight class.
what the fuck?
Was there a better potential fight? Honestly does anyone give a shit about Aspinall? And that is an easy fight to make in the future and seemingly will happen if JJ wants to keep fighting. Stipe is the greatest HW fighter in UFC history. After all the bullshit Stipe has been through its astounding to me hearing people with this point of view. To never have seen Stipe vs JJ would have been worse than this imo which would have been the case if they didnt fight last night. Obviously this would have been infinitly better to see 3-5 years ago and imo would have went much differently.Last night we watched what could be the GOAT but squandered so much time of his career and talent that his case weakened a lot, come out with a beer gut and beat up a 42 year old man that hasn’t won a fight in over 4 years.

Stipe prob should hang it up, but there have been fighters, even at his age, who have come back from similar layoffs and have been successful and even won championship titles. He deserved the fight, but I agree this does nothing for Jones legacy considering how Stipe looked last night.
What the fuck difference does Aspinall's popularity make? He's not only the interim champion but he's even defended the fucking interim championship while Dana lets Jones duck him for a bigger money fight. The UFC's heavyweight division has become one of the biggest jokes in the history of combat sports. Was there a better potential fight? Honestly does anyone give a shit about Aspinall? As for Stipe, fuck him too. Greatest fighter in the history of an eternally underdeveloped and inconsistent weight division. The only fight he deserved was a trilogy decider against Ngannou three fucking years ago but for all intensive porpoises he quit MMA when he started working full time as a firefighter in 2022. Letting him challenge Jones after a two year vacation (fight was originally set for last November) after losing the title to someone else was bad enough, but rescheduling them after Aspinall won the interim title the night they were originally supposed to fight is completely absurd. At the very least one of the two of them should have had to go through Aspinall before this fight was allowed to happen.
Jon Jones has basically zero legitimacy as HW champion.
Who are you even talking about? Randy Couture's first retirement lasted all of 13 months and the big win on his return was a five round decision victory over one of the worst champions in UFC history (arguably the worst), a lumbering fatass that he couldn't finish despite dropping him to the mat before the opening bell had even finished ringing. Only other 40+ title winner I can think of in the UFC was Teixeira and I certainly wouldn't call that a success story.there have been fighters, even at his age, who have come back from similar layoffs and have been successful and even won championship titles
