The 3rd round was when he really got rocked, and I was surprised Cain didn't go for the finish. Not that surprised to hear he doesn't remember it. I remember when Tim Sylvia fought Couture, and Couture rocked him right at the beginning of the fight. I believe it was before the 4th round he was asking what round it was, cause he blanked for a while.

Junior's corner really shouldn't have let him back out there for the 4th, or 5th. Love his heart and toughness, but when your fighter is only still standing because the cage is holding him up and half the round he can't even bring his hands up you need to consider his health. I have a pretty strong stomach with MMA stuff, but that shit had me cringing.

The more I think about it, and after watching the fight again, the more I really think JDS corner did him a disservice. I am sure he would have thrown an absolute fit if they tried to stop it after the 3rd round, but he got completely destroyed by the time that round was over. Sure he still had a punchers chance, but it just doesn't seem worth it since he is still pretty young.

JDS is known for being unstable and angry!

There's seriously not a fighter in the world I'd rather be stuck with that task on.

After the fight when JDS said "he beat me up", if you didn't want to just give him a big hug you are a sociopathic piece of shit.

Yeah but come on, you know his competitive nature would kick in and he would not simply nod his head and agree to it. Of course he wouldn't react like, oh I don't know Nick Diaz, and attempt to punch you or something. But I still think he wouldn't have taken kindly to it.

I don't see how this is going to work. Isn't Sonnen hated through pretty much all of Brazil? What fighters are going to want him for their coach? And holy shit, how is he going to survive living there for the couple months of filming? Gonna get himself shot!

I guess they could do USA vs Brazil... but who the fuck would willingly sign up with Chael IN BRAZIL.... AGAINST BRAZILIANS. That said, barring his imminent demise, this could produce an epic season of back and forth between the two. Only to culminate in Wandy getting smothered for 3 rounds.

Either way the hatred for Chael in Brazil is trumped up. They don't really care. It's not like different football clubs or anything. The beef between him and Wanderlei is totally fake too.

Oh and it'll probably be an awful fight with Chael taking Silva down at will and tapping him with his fists for 5 rounds.

If he fought Overeem (which still may happen, I expect Overeem to crush Mir) I am quite sure he would use a different strategy. He has a smart team around him, and they will gameplan for it. But yeah, pretty much what Grimm said. After JDS the gap in talent is pretty wide.

With as many times as he was dropped in his fight against Kongo, I honestly thought Cain may have a suspect chin. He put that to rest quite well with as many solid shots as he took from JDS though.
