I love Jimmy Hettes's grappling, dude is Demian Maia-level agressive. Except he is against much worse opposition so he can just tap some fools with no BJJ defense.

Iaquinta gets warned several times to keep his hands closed, pokes him in the eye, and still doesn't lose a point.

Damn I thought Sakara had this one on lock. That's a pretty tough fight for anyone's first in the UFC.

Me too, there goes my furious end-of-year comeback attempt. Fuck.
Looks like a bunch of people forgot their picks, only 6 of us on there this card.

What a shitty way to end that fight. The first knee looked totally legal, and the 2nd one was questionable. Lame

Class act by Machida there. Knew the guy was basically done and held back from smashing his face in.

Yeah the mic even picked up him asking "how's your head" and you could hear that he had genuine concern. Super classy.

Oh and 185 lbs Machida is terrifying.

Machida and Munoz are friends who have trained together a lot, no surprise he was so restrained. Plus he's super disciplined and all so he's not gonna go all Paul Harris and not notice the ref until a team of donkeys are pulling him off, as soon as he saw the ref coming in he stopped dead.

Yeah, 185 Machida could be a terror.

Also, that little hook kick Manuwa just missed with might be the fastest kick I've seen in MMA. Just something that stuck out to me. Sucks how Jimmo's knee or whatever gave out there.

3 point maybe rule should be changed to 4 point, this hedging your bets with a hand down shit has to stop. You are either on the ground or not. 1 hand down to negate knees and one guarding the side towards your opponent is bullshit.

Cyrus mentioned Hettes earlier, here's his finish. Badass transition.

Looked like Jimmo sprained his ankle to me. But yes, that was a quick kick Manuwa threw. I think Stephen Thompson has thrown some quicker but for a 205 holy fuckery. The main event sucked to me. Mark Munoz needs to not hang out with so many people he's going to potentially fight. He just looked like he didn't want to be in there fighting a teammate. Machida does look scary at 185 but he had that fight in the bag before it even started because Munoz looked like he was about to piss himself.

Haha these two dicks. I don't like Landsberg that much but he really asked them the questions I wanted to hear. Watching them squirm when being asked about Dana's contribution to the sport was hilarious.

Landsberg is the most annoying douchebag in broadcasting and I have no idea how he gets the talent to show up. Seriously, I just don't get why some people seem to like him.

That interview was pretty decent though.

I thought blocking a head kick was supposed to prevent you from getting KO'd. Did Munoz put his right hand like actually on the side of his head so his hand + glove didn't absorb nearly enough force? Or is it just that Machida now kicks really fucking hard so it don't even matter if you block it?

I saw someone on Reddit mention that with that type of glancing head kick the force can cause the head to snap to the side, causing the spine to pinch for a second, in turn causing a few seconds of being knocked out. Unlike a traditional knock out you come to more quickly from the nerve pinch style. No idea how much of that is BS or fact, but it makes sense that your body would go limp in certain situations in order to avoid more harm.
