I've never loved Cruz, aside from his unorthodox takedowns, but I wasreallypumped for him there. He gets the title shot too, which he should.
Also don't blame Romero for the stool stuff. It was a commission guy that told him to stay there so they could clean up some Vaseline off his cut, Vaseline applied by the UFC cutman not anyone from Romero's crew. He didn't do anything wrong himself, just what he was instructed by the commission guy and Big John. I was yelling at the screen at the time too, but it turns out it's not on him at all. I actually feel kind of bad for him being put in this position.
Also Kennedy was inadvertently holding his glove during that flurry in the 2nd=P So I guess it kind of sort of balances out???
Kennedy was worked up. Backstage he was confronting Romero and his people but it looked like Romero stayed calm.

One is a DQ the other is a warning. Good comparison to half second hand slip/grabbing onto what he can to flooding the ring with water, globs of vaseline, and his corner not taking the chair out and refusing to even leave. All this while being yelled at by the commission agent to get out and take the chair before Big J told the cutman to remove the excess.
Can't answer the bell? That's a TKO, he even admitted he couldn't get up.

I don't mind that womens MMA is a thing, but I don't have to like it. It's not about skill either, such as NBA vs WNBA. I just don't enjoy watching women getting beaten, battered, and bloody.
They get a chance to pursue what they love and make a living doing it. Good for them. In the mean time, I will be fast forwarding their fights or not tuning in.

I wasn't really commenting on women's MMA at large, though in that case I'm the opposite of you and it's the lack of skill that turns me away from it. More just this season. They're trying to manufacture drama where there is none even more than before and sex it up and it just wreaks of desperation. The fights aren't anything special either of course, but I'm hopeful that will improve as they move through the tournament.
Also, as always, I want them to show more training=P They haven't been too bad about it this season, but I want more.
I saw someone on reddit say the first fight was "the best fight on TUF ever". It was not.

I'm not liking this season at all, and I've seen every episode so far. It has more than the usual pre-fight nonsense and then it's topped off by a shitty fight.
I don't feel this way about all women fighters though. Cat Zingano's fight on Saturday was fucking epic and one of the best fights on a card full of great fights, and I'll watch a Rousey fight no matter who she's fighting. Meisha rarely has a boring fight, too. It's just too bad that there are only a handful of interesting fighters at 135 and apparently none at 115.

I think they'll get better as we get deeper into the tournament. Last week was just a mom who had lost her edge against Penne who she'd faced before as an up and comer but who had clearly progressed beyond her in the interim. I'm surprised at how Felicia Herig has been completely tolerable thus far and that bitch Heather is just a trainwreck. My initial impression is that it would be the reverse. In any case, their fight should be badass when it goes down.

Isn't watching Ronda Rousey, like watching Mike Tyson or Michael Jordan in their prime? it's the only time I watch MMA fights with friends, when she's up for a fight.
