For Dana there isn't much of a downside. If CM does well then he brings a ton of fans, if he gets wrecked then Dana gets to play his"The UFC has the best talent and is the most competitive org in the world"card. If the UFC had signed Fedor it would have been the same thing - either he does well and they get a fuckton of Fedor homers interested or he gets wrecked and then you would have had Dana reprising his"Fedor fought cans in a bad promotion that was rife with corruption"angle.I used Faber as an example because he just fought tonight in the prelims. CM Punk has definitely been through it, but again if he was such a trainwreck, I doubt Dana would sign him. Obviously there's no way he gets anywhere near a title shot at Middleweight or Welterweight, but he might be something more than just an embarrassment.
I sure as shit wasRobbie hurt him bad at the end there with the elbows. Was anyone not pulling for him to finish it with that last rush, after Hendricks went full stall mode for the entire 5th round?
Yeah I was thinking the same thing. So many of his takedown attempts were what is normally considered "control" but it really doesn't do shit towards winning a fight.Wow, they did NOT award Johny shit for all those extended takedown attempts with no offense. I don't necessarily agree with the decision, but I like the thinking.
I agree, but as far as I'm concerned Hendricks can go fuck himself for that round 5 performance. How the fuck did he win that fight? I was rooting for him, but he clearly lost imo
