Boxing takes a ridiculously long time to develop and you have to constantly work your ass off to keep the skills up. It's really not surprising that the best "boxers" in MMA look silly when compared to even amateur boxers. They have a lot of other shit they need to work on.

I do agree that it's funny when someone (especially Rogan) hypes up some UFC guy's boxing skills.

As for the argument that Stipe won because JDS looked bad...

Oliviera vs. Stephens was pretty damn good. I don't know that Do Bronx will ever fight for a belt, but he's a lot of fun to watch. I've said it before but there's just not enough hyper-aggressive submission artists in MMA. You have to pay attention when guys like him or Ben Saunders get in the cage, they keep the action going.

Cruickshank vs. Noons was shaping up to be a good fight before it turned in to a 3 stooges bit with Noons poking his eye out.

Medeiros vs. Proctor was decent. Medeiros seems like kind of a douche but he's entertaining enough in the cage.

Jojo vs. Hamderlei was pretty good. Especially since Ham is fighting out of her normal weightclass of 105.

Was sad to see Felice win because she's a turbocunt and a pretty mediocre fighter, but she looked good going for the constant submissions.

Main event was fairly boring. Rose fought stupid and gave up way too many easy takedowns. I get she's confident from the bottom, but that's only going to help you so much against a bigger and stronger wrestler with Esparza's experience.

Karates Holy Trinity: Lyoto Machida, Semmy Schilt, and Andy Hug | FIGHTLAND

Mostly posted because the section on Semmy Schilt is becoming increasingly relevant in MMA. I remember asking a couple years ago why almost no MMA fighters used those kicks as they seemed insanely effective, and the smarter kickpunchers mostly said they were just really fucking hard to land just right. If you didn't come up from that kind of karate background they take a ton of work to master. It seems like we're starting to see them a bit now, and I always love seeing the evolution of MMA as it happens.

Rory MacDonald has been told he wont get next welterweight title shot - MMA Fighting

So apparently they are going straight into a Trilogy? I get it, both fights were close, but come the fuck on. Let them fight a couple other people first so the title isn't locked up with 2 people for years at a time with nobody else even getting a shot. And it isn't like some other divisions where there are no other legitimate contenders. There are a few people in the WW division that are worthy of at least looking at.

From one of the articles about the antitrust lawsuit.

Though he says it has nothing to do with being involved in the suit, the 42-year old Le was recently defamed and suspended when the UFC -- acting as its own commission for a fight card on Macau -- popped him for the use of Human Growth Hormone (HGH) for his fight with Michael Bisping. When it was revealed that the test was botched, his suspension was lifted but, given the damage already done in public perception, animosity remained.
That's actually a pretty big revelation to me. I thought Cung Le was just doping, I never heard anything about the test having been botched.

Yeah it came out like the week after the suspension. The UFC didn't want to pay the money to send the test to a WADA accredited lab on the mainland, so they sent it to Hong Kong to some B-level lab who wasn't even able to properly perform one of the two tests used for HGH. They instead said, yes there is indeed HGH in Cung Le, at a level that may or may not be consistent with a professional athlete right before/after a fight.

That fucker was juicing, they just used a shitty lab and had to cover their asses.

And the expected Hendricks/Lawler 3 immediately is fucking retarded. For one they made Lawler beat 2 top contenders before he got his rematch. For two they are rushing these fucking trilogies waaaaay too God damned hard. This is a series that would hold for a year or two and help keep the division interesting.

Hendricks looked like shit for half the fight and was gassed for the last round or two. Make him win a couple against someone like Woodley or Lombard. Get his fat ass motivated.

QFT. I'd watch this again, but not immediately. Give Rory a shot.
