She may have simply been trying to avoid getting hurt or dangerously caught because she knew she would be getting a title shot. But I don't really think that she kept her normal form intentionally before going super sayajin on Rousey.

And, that I would agree with. It's something a lot of athletes, and organizations do.The whole conspiracy of Holly purposely went into all her fights to hide tech from Rondas camp is something I don't believe for a second.

Whats Ronda possibly going to do in that fight different to make her win it? She got out boxed plain ,and simple. Her camp was not going to turn into her a good striker even if they knew everything about Holly.

So then she is hurting herself for not building more hype. I don't know anyone that thought Holly had a chance because no one watched her.

Go in like a wrecking ball, and make her payout bigger.

Fighting is all about promotion.

I'm more to agree with Rezz that she was looking to not get hurt if she could while waiting for a title fight.

She may have been much more conservative in the other fights, if that's what they're saying. It would definitely make sense to fight in a way that wouldn't leave you as vulnerable to a lucky shot if you outclass your opponent. Obviously, she didn't feel that way about Rousey and felt she needed to be much more aggressive. It's the idea that she was trying to look bad on purpose in order to catch Rousey off-guard that's ridiculous.

In that first round, Rousey tried to bull her way through punches a few times, and thought she would get something by swinging wildly. Her takedown attempt wasn't super amazing, and she instead kept chasing and trying to land sloppy ass punches. If/when the rematch happens (implying she doesn't quit completely after being absolutely dissected in the ring) she has got to take a much more measured approach, and try blocking/avoiding punches instead of absorbing them with her nose. She was literally jogging after Holm eating face shots and landing pillow punches at best, with one grazing shot. Rousey is a tough chick, for sure, but she's got nowhere near the muscle mass she would need to eat a trained boxer's shots to the head and -not- have her vision/equilibrium/stance get fucked up in the process. Not to mention, her MMA career has largely been her steamrolling everyone with little risk because Grim's right: women's MMA is a joke outside a tiny subset of fighters, only three/four of which exist in the UFC. You now have a solid striker and a solid grappler in the same division, and one had an infinitely better gameplan and execution. Rousey needs to learn some straight up boxing fundamentals, and realize that she is not going to bullrush someone who has the exact toolset to stall her completely in the attempt. Whether that actually happens though... who knows.

Yeah this sums it up much better.

Yeah, I'm sorry, but it's hard to watch Sanchez fight anymore. It's been right about at a year and a half since his last fight before tonight and he's just slow. Hopefully they'll watch his tape and help him determine that he doesn't need to be doing it anymore. It would be one thing if he was slow and able to knock folks out, but he just stands in there and gets his ass kicked most of the time. It's time to hang it up.

Also, that main event was boring.

I forgot there was an event. Kinda glad. Top 8 fights on the card went to decision.

And holy shit what a terrible decision.

Sux for Sexyama, but that was a fun fight as it progressed. I love crazy Dong Hyun Kim so much more than boring grappler Kim. The rematch with Maia should be fantastic, that first fight was the definition of freak injury.

Round 5 grappling between Henderson and Masvidal was amazing.

There were two Dong Hyun Kim's on this card...the first one got KO'd after a slam and I guess they put Maestro in front of his name.
