Here's what we're going to do. There are three inactive mods for the most part, and I would be grateful for additional help in keeping the ship on course here. If you are interested in actually helping the community please put your name in the hat and I'll consider your interest. Then once all the names are accumulated, if there are more than three, we'll have a vote for them and we can get some voting specialists here to run the vote. If there are enough we can do something like folks have done in screenshots.

If you want to be a mod these are your duties:
1) Give people asking for access, access from the Waiting Room (If you've had an account here for long than 8ish months, you don't even see this forum). Dozens or so per week sometimes. Usually takes a few minutes to go through.
2) Respond to reports which are typically gore or nsfw material in the wrong places.
3) Keep people from shitposting all over the place while being somewhat lenient on letting people go at each other. Typically this is the usual suspects that you all know and love.
4) Cleaning up spam bots.
5) Continuous discussion with the other mods about the direction of the community, and discuss any infractions that are in place. Usually this constitutes to respond to a few posts a week based on any infractions. It's really no big deal and by "direction of the community" I mean, should we really let kegkilla call everyone a faggot in every one of his posts and not infract him, or should he be RRPd for a week because he won't stop shitposting in the Star Wars thread after many warnings?

The people who can be mods are people that I can trust not to fuck shit up and are actually responsible members of this community. So if you have a history of being a racist piece of shit and a hateful troll you basically shouldn't apply.

Carry on.

TL;DR - The people who actually want to be moderators are the people who should not be the moderators.

I hate responsibility and I'm lazy as fuck.
My whole campaign is tongue-in-cheek and I'm in it for the lulz.
Do not make me a mod.

I actually thought hodj did a decent job as a moderator until he started infracting people he was arguing with.
This never happened. Unless you count Tanoomba, who I didn't argue with. I just infracted, and that's because I was specifically made a mod to do exactly that.

Here's what happened.

I did threaten Furry and Siddar in some thread to stop trolling me or I'd infract them, but never did actually infract them. That was my error, and I admit that.

But that was the only time that came close to me "infracting someone for arguing with me".

When I was demodded, what happened was I was arguing with Cad in the Science thread (I think) and Tuco told us to stop, then Chanur made some comment to me, and I replied, and Tuco infracted me, which removes your mod powers (or he removed my mod powers so he could infract me, one or the other, I dunno).

Otherwise, the vast majority, if not all, of my infractions to non-advertising bots were single point infractions meant to prevent larger infractions being given by others. For instance, someone was reported saying the n-word, who has been infracted for that many times in the past. Rather than let Draegan see it and give them a week in the shaw, I hit them with a 1 point infraction. There, problem solved, now no other mods will usually take action.

The exception to this rule was

1. Tanoomba, who deserves every minute in the shaw he ever gets and then some
2. Some guy that spammed a shit load of links in some movie thread or something that were all saying something to the effect of "Make money doing X" but they were actually links to a torrent site that had the movie up. Something like that. I hit him with a 99 point infraction so he was shawed indefinitely, rather than banning him. I did this since there was some uncertainty if the links were actually advertising spam or not at the time. This allowed him to contact me and explain that he wasn't a spam bot, at which point I overturned his infraction and let him out of the shaw.

Infractions shouldn't remove modship, but I never tested it. It's probably a separate action. Second, I never got involved in any of those threads or actually jumped in there. I just assumed whatever was reported in the mod thread was what actually happened and left it at that.

Yeah I don't remember what was said in the moderator thread, but I know for a fact I never infracted anyone who was arguing with me in some thread. Like I didn't infract Cad for the debate we were having when I was demodded, for instance.

I just want the record clear is all. Its only fair that my time as moderator is judged based on what I did do.

Tuco,
Would you consider draegan a pigeon boss, meaning that he is largely absent except to show up to shit all over everything randomly?

You did, it was Tanoomba.

Incorrect. I was explicitly promotd to moderator to put tanoomba in line, and i wasnt arguing with him at the time in any thread.
Fine, you were involved in a "discussion" with him, whatever. We had a big discussion in the infraction thread about how we generally try not to infract in situations we are involved in. I read the thread today.

^ the offending post. I'm not even saying you were wrong in infracting him, I don't care.

Yeah I liked Hodj as a mod and have zero issue with him taking giant steaming dumps on Moonbat. He might have had some biases, but Tarrant has done what Hodj is accused of multiple times (as one example) and he is obviously not going anywhere.

Anyhow, I think Other Games needs its own non sperg mod who can maintain neutrality (except where Moonbat is concerned, fuck that guy), which Hodj did a solid job on. I'd be interested in helping out in that area, but I am not really a part of the in crowd around here and would likely resume Hodj's no bullshit policy, regarding the Moon Bat, which may or may not fly with people. Whoever you give that job to has to have a thick skin and capable of separating personal bias from the topic of discussion, though. Thus far, I feel Noodle, Chaos, and Hodj have done the best in that area.

What part of I was explicitly given moderator powers explicitly to rickshaw tanoomba for his posting in the gamergate thread by tuco are you failing to grasp here exactly?
