How do they compare to Rise? That's the only one I have played but I was dual blades in it and loved them.
I think if you loved them in Rise you are going to love them even more in Wilds. I may be misremembering how it worked in Rise, but the general style here pretty simple.
Normal attacks - no real reason to ever use these.
Hit a key to enter Demon mode - stamina drains, but all your attacks are better and they fill your demon bar up.
Hit the same key to exit Demon mode - enter Arch-Demon mode, keeping all the demon mode moves but dealing more damage while draining the demon bar.
So, you end up just going back and forth between demon mode and arch-demon mode, one draining stam but gaining demon power while the other refills stam to drain demon power.
A couple of nice improvements-
-If you get knocked down in demon mode you immediately exit (In worlds and rise you would stay in demon mode, so your stam would still be draining while you were knocked down).
-If you perfectly dodge an attack you get a buff that makes you glow blue for bit, increases your damage, and makes every dash turn into a move that also deals damage.
-Instead of Demon dance being one long insane weapon flurry they have broken it up into Demon dance 1, 2 and 3. Makes it way less of a commitment. Also, you can insert a repositioning skill in between parts 1, 2 and 3 - so if you start dance 1 and the monster moves, you can do an attack with a foreword leap to reposition and go straight into dance 2, then do it again and go into the final dance 3. Again, just making it was less likely that you start demon dance and just stand there cutting air for 6 seconds
I took a 12 second clip of someone's video showing the wound break for dual blades, its fun as hell. Basically when you see a monster with a wound you can do a special focus attack where you basically latch on to the wound, leap off, shoot a grapple back to the monster and spin grind your way down its body. It's suuuuuper fun to do, and easy to pull off multiple times during a fight.
