Apparently I played almost 200 hours of World.

But I've turned a few streams of this one on this morning and this game looks boring as fuck. Am I missing something?

I do have concerns about how the more open world gameplay will resonate with me. One thing I liked about Monster Hunter was everything was basically a “bottle” mission. Hub > Get Mission > Face Smash Monster > Hub > Craft > Get Mission, repeat. That was comfortable, defined, streamline.

We’ll see. I only put about 45 minutes in to the demo so that is all speculation. Excited to give it a shot tonight / tomorrow.

I think the game can function similar to World in that you can go back to the "Hub" and get get a mission from the Handler, but those missions / investigations can also be started at will out in the wild by selection a monster on the map (apparently), and those missions can be saved to do at a later time.

They took out spare shot wuuuuuuut? You can't even use the shotgun/spread ammo build at point blank?

That is some bullshit that build was so much fun.

Yea, lots of weird changes; no melee hit, only 1 land mine, no recoil / reload mods, changed Rapid Fire into a limited mechanic, etc. The only positive I saw was the unlimited Pierce ammo, but the recoil I felt in Beta felt bad... so I dunno. Disappointed atm.

These changes all look terrible. Point blank limitations on HBG is mindboggling design, ammo economy removal means entire playstyles invalidated (cluster/sticky/slice) and the base stuff looks just not very good so yeah, don't know about guns.
