This games MP settings are so obtuse. Last night, I somehow got into the Lobby settings and made some changes to try out the Support Hunters. Now I cannot find how to get back into those settings to undo those changes. Creating a new Private Lobby from the login screen doesn't bring up the settings window, and I can see now where else in the games maze of menus that offers that window.

Basically, the settings I was able to change last night had things like Password, Lobby ID, SoS Flare toggle, etc.

Right, but I do not get any option to change settings at the opening menu. I get to the character select screen, then I get a choice of how I want to start; Rec Lobby, Search Lobby, Private Lobby and Online Single Player; no options window appears for any of those selections anymore. And I do not know how to get those options to appear ingame.

All I read is how piss easy this game, and for me and my mediocre skills that was definitely true... up to a certain point/monster. Since then, have had more than a few fairly challenging fights. The very beginning though (10 hours maybe?) was very easy. Trying to be a hammer bro again, but keep going back SNS as it is just so flexible. Feels like a great mix of hammer & DB's combined into a great little package.

Already can’t wait to play more. Bar bingo takes priority but next Wednesday we have new home theater gaming furniture coming and a gaming weekend next weekend with having a new Wine tray😀

5800x3D and 3080ti here: run in 1080 Samsung QLED upscaling , high preset, ray tracing on high. Runs fine. 4k high preset, no ray tracing about the same. Benchmark tool predicted correctly.

or I could be getting old and not noticing the differences.

edit: sorry, should specify: capped at 60fps.

And now I'll revise this opinion! Installed the latest Nvidia drivers as overlay wasn't showing the FPS - and I wanted to know; oh how that thirst for knowledge has punished me. Two system lock ups later and it had totalled win11, would not start, all advanced safe mode options knackered. Forced a complete win11 reinstall.

Ragequit, refunded on Steam (just under 2 hours in), and purchased on PS5 Pro. Both PC and Pro share the same screen.

Pro set to resolution quality pref, and up to the first monster it's a lot better quality/smoothness than my PC.

Got to the credits.

I think World was the better game, at least from Start til Credits. I appreciate the Wilds story dealing with the ancient civilization though, but the presentation / dialogues were overly dramatic or maybe just slow. The monster line-up here in Wilds suffers a lot from being my 3rd MH game, didn't care for the big 3: Arkveld, Jin Dahad or Zoh. I found some of the lesser monsters to be a lot more fun (Uth Duna, Ajarakhan). The zone design in Wilds though, much much better than World/Iceborne/Rise, just really well done. Overall, the Story pacing and the janky mechanics to LBG lowered my enjoyment of this section of the game, but I am looking forward to High Rank.

Ouch, lol. Frame-rate mode works well, but give Balanced a try too if the 30fps cap annoys you at some point.

To add to this. If I have to follow one more fucking NPC I'm going to TP Capcom HQ. Think the pacing of Worlds/Iceborn was way better.

Is there any end game content to speak off? grinding jewels?
btw dont sleep on your secondary weapon. just make some shit and carry around. I do normal and wide gunlance and changing on the go is nice. thinking of putting sns to switch the pace

Just rolled credits as well and I found the monster list here to be superior to World (and a ton better than Rise). The zones are better as well and I appreciate the effort on the story but it's still a very mediocre effort. If you want to make LR a great single player story I'm fine with that, but the writing is not good. The pacing as well suffers, but then I remember World which was just dog shit - thank christ they ditched the large mon, grab cannon balls, fire ballistas bullshit. Great game - only really had issues with one monster and that was a POS MH:World monster interestingly and even that was 2 carts. Hoping we get some more difficult stuff in HR and eventually GR.

I actually really enjoyed the story fleshing out things that were mentioned in Monster Hunter lore. Wyveria has been a thing since maybe the first game, but actually going there was pretty wild. Also the return of Little Miss Forge from MH4U was welcome....especially since she is quite ample now.

It's a shame the performance and graphics are subpar, because the combat and especially the sound design is excellent. Lala Barina, Nu Udra, Ark Veld and Rey Dau have great sound effects. I also really dig the wounds system as the new way to get a lot of your materials. Also getting parts from breaks immediately instead of at the end screen is nice.

Also the final story boss not having any of its own gear..... what....the...fuck. Xenojiva was one of my favorite story bosses and his armor and weapons were amazing. Now we get a pretty cool boss.... who drops more Arkveld parts?

I'm so pissed off with Wilds atm. All I want to do is set the order of items that are on the item bar thing, if I recall, in World I could select an item and move that item itself. Here is Wilds, its like total RNG on what gets moved. Example:

1 2 3 4 5 6

The item I want to be in the 1 slot is currently in the 5 slot. The Rearrange options just has a blue divider that you can move. If I place the divider in front of 5, it moves 3 to 6, and 5 to 4. Then I can't place the divider in front of 4. If that makes sense.

I think the wounds system is fantastic but perhaps tuned a bit too strong. SNS is just constantly popping wounds and doing big dps. I enjoy the mechanic, but it either happens too frequently or does too much dmg when they open up. Making way through HR - agreed on sound design. I love the main story music and a few boss fights have incredible scores. Going to sink an astromonical amount of time in this, great looking armor sets and weapons... now that I'm going through HR, opens up and "feels" a lot more like worlds.

It's crazy how little of the maps you learn through the story so having to learn them is kind of fun.
