I know the long term plan is to not have everyone start in NH. I believe they plan to have at least NH and the Wood Elf city as starting areas by the time early access starts in 2025. As they finish other race cities I’m sure those will become available starting areas.Anyone know if the intent is all people start in Night Harbor? Not talking about for test but long term.
I'm really hoping this isn't the case unless they plan to do something like increasing the rate of spawns of mobs dynamically.
Thought it was interesting to hear about the lag issues due to food mechanics though. Made me think about Blizzards food implementation being an "Opt in" vs "opt out" and if that was their reasoning for it. Also thought about the discussion that someone was having about their testing involving test versions of "rested" being a negative incentive vs a positive incentive.

Not sure about this but maybe NH is meant to be a melting pot city and a way for friends to start at the same place if they so wish.
I think it's more a matter of scope. I believe they're leaning towards NH being the focal city until they have the means to develop the other racial cities. It's probably a smart decision. Early Access I believe is aiming to have one region/area complete, with the goal to add more as resources are available (which I'd assume is funding).Anyone know if the intent is all people start in Night Harbor? Some actual costs (albeit a year ago roughly, things have changed a bit probably) is in this update - Update 31: Stress Test Results — Monsters & MemoriesYeah i figured it was cloud hosted… i was more wondering out loud if it would be more economical to have a box with how cheap hardware is to what you get in base level azure etc
But its been awhile since i have done any paid cloud servers
I'm not.I know the devs are at work, etc. but having it at 1pm on a Friday seems counterproductive to the "stress test" part. As most other people are at work then, too. lol
Least shocking thing I have ever heard.I'm not.
Its the closest thing to classic EQ. Mobs are not easy to kill at level 1. There is limited bag space. Nothing is obvious, but the more you play you realize 'how' and 'what' you should be doing. For example I discovered a noob quest where i turn in a couple scarab shells and I got a 4 slot container which really helped. Every class has a noob quest and you really have to figure them out, ask for help. The leveling is slow and they've made comments about keeping it slow -- maybe making it slower. Getting an item with a stat on it felt like an accomplishment. For those who have played it- this game fun to play? Too early to tell? Does it feel like EQ? Early impressions?

If you like classic EQ, I think you will like MnM. If you're looking for classic EQ but with some QOL improvements...they aren't adding them. I like it. To each their own.
