They’re targeting beta in Q3-Q4. They’re super transparent.

Let's hope that Monsters & Memories is not the release name for this MMOPRG. It breaks immersion right off the bat. It sounds like an internal project name or an inside joke or a corny WoW Classic guild name. It would be like calling the Olive Garden, Pasta & Indigestion Let's hope they change the name to something more appropriate for a fantasy MMORPG.

I think it’s an effective choice for signaling to their target market what they can expect out of the product. In a sea of options, it’s important to get customers to make the right decision with minimal input.

Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. I hope it launches smoothly and doesn't get sued into oblivion by whoever owns EQ these days, but the industry and market are what they are. That pic above with the NEC item and the quest being lifted straight from EQ? Well, that shit would be an absolute slam dunk for copyright infringement if this game gets any monetary success unless they have some sort of legal agreement already. Do they?

The MnM item has a different name, different stats, different effect, and is the reward from a completely different questline as the EQ item. Sounds like a slam dunk copyright case to me!
When someone says “hey this reminds me of item X from game Y” I think that is exactly what they’re going for.
