Tarmogoyf being relegated to a token is a pretty apt metaphor for what has happened to Magic in general over the last ~10 years.

The enfranchised long-term player is little more than a meme at this point. If you aren't a commander player you legitimately do not matter and are not part of their target market anymore.

I'm not trying to be a dick. But at this point they should just flip the bird to the reserved list guys. And reprint the real dual lands. And then just make them rarest like they were. It would be great. And I can finally finish my deck I built when I was 10 lol

Land are boring and often frustrating when not in the right quantities.

They should just powercreep them so that dual lands are worthless.

Like they all have some sort of cycling or alternate mode, and a gay black person in the art.

They are going back to core sets (again) in Nov starting with Foundations, a 50/50 reprint/new card set that's going to be in Standard until at least 2029.

"Foundations launches on Nov. 15, and will have all the trappings of a mainline set release — that includes Play boosters, Collector boosters, Jumpstart boosters, and Bundles as well as all the same pre-release pomp and circumstance as any other new set of cards. But it will also feature two new-to-Magic products: a Beginner Box and a Starter Collection."

"the Beginner Box will include 10 packets with 20 cards inside each one, with two packets for each of Magic’s five colors of mana. Using a mix-and-match system originally designed for the Jumpstart product line, players will be able to combine and recombine those 10 packets into many different kinds of decks." - $30

"Once players have mastered the Foundations Beginner Box of 200 cards, then they can move on to the Starter Collection. That 350-card box will help them to expand on the themes and techniques they’ve already discovered, while also serving to keep them well within the warm embrace of a kind of estuary — a place of calm that should remain stable even as multiple new sets of cards are released year after year." - $60

Also looks like Duskmourn is going the 70s/80s tech route with TV's, headphones, etc. Didn't like this shit in Kamigawa or Streets either, but I guess I'm the minority.

What the fuck is wrong with these people?

It's not hard to figure out a starter set you periodically update, it's just their greed in wanting to product to also be attractive to their whales.

They must be past 10 rebrands by now.

Those are fsntastic! Where hast thou acquired such Holy relics?
"Split across two Secret Lair drops, the latest Universes Beyond tie-in will have eight reprints and one token reskinned with references and jokes from the classic 1975 film. One drop will have five cards total, one of which is double-faced so you can choose if it’s either an African or European swallow, while the other will have three cards and a token."

"The Monty Python and the Holy Grail drops will be available in both foil and non-foil starting on July 29 as part of the next Superdrop."

Which Python is black now? The dead one?

Would be hilarious if it's John Cleese as he's long turned against woke.
He didn't completely turn against woke - he's still a bit woke himself, which is highly disappointing.

Took about an hour and a half for all 4 foil/non-foil Monty Python SLs to sell out. People that missed out are pissed, as others are talking about "only" being able to buy 30ish units.

Mystery Boosters 2 are now out. Supposedly convention only. Cards have the little planeswalker symbol per normal, but each pack has a playtest card, and white bordered card, and a card printed in the special Future Sight frame.

I really, really hate the white bordered cards. They look like ass. Mixed feelings on the FS frames, though. Some look decent (other than the set symbol is retarded). Norwood Priestess getting her first reprint, and as that frame.
