As someone who plays the degen cEDH (but also hates turbo) I’m happy for these bans, but I also want some other shit banned like Rhystic Study and Orcish Bowmasters.

Eh, cEDH is supposed to be the same format as EDH just with no self imposed deck building restrictions. Making the best out of what is legal in the same format.

People do play Rule 0 No Ban List stuff, but it's so degen it's not widely accepted.

I'd go no ban list as much as possible and let power 9 in and treat cedh like vintage.

What is the best place to sell magic cards these days? Still ebay? Would need something international like ebay as selling from Australia I'd want to reach US buyers.

Idk if anyone plays standard but I cooked up a cracked ass deck. Legit haven't played constructed in like 25 years and basically always been a limited player. Was drafting duskmourn a lot and the format is ridiculous. I've only trophied with 2 decks and only once did I ever 7-0 and it was with u/w enchantments. I just steamrolled almost every game and it was actually really fun to play so I made a standard version of it and so far it is steamrolling everything, including mono red.

Going to be a disaster. I’m torn on what to do with my collection at this point. On one hand this was one of the first shared activities my husband and I did together (our wedding cake had figures of us playing magic together) and don’t really want to just throw that activity in the trash.
On the other hand, WotC is retarded, most of the RC seemed retarded and the people at our current LGS are extreme autists and we cannot find a decent group of people to play with. I haven’t enjoyed playing in a while and basically just don’t care anymore. Husband just proxies but he still enjoys deck building, he just doesn’t actually get to play decent games with the stuff he brews. Just sucks for us all around.

I sold my collection around 2012 or so for several thousand. Had stuff from unlimited through time spiral. Nothing crazy just 4 FoW, some orig duals, tolarian academy, etc.

Ultimately very similar, got tired of needing to buy 4x$20 of the sameish dual lands to put a standard deck together. Finally had enough. I think the whole time spiral gimmick where everyone went berserk was where the writing was on the wall and I just didn't care anymore. Friend pulled a library from it too.

Honestly I got over it. I had so many cards I couldn't even begin to know what I had aside from rares. It wasn't fun going to events anymore. It was too expensive. People sucked and wokeness was starting to creep in with the gay pride shit.

lolz RC is gone, WOTC taking over, and already being retarded.

The people ruining the cohesion of the game with countless types of variants and printing to many sets to squeeze cash out of you are going to keep the format community focused!

If they don't like deck power variation, I always thought that there should be a limit on actions taken per turn, like a "time" mechanic - but keep the limit above what a normal deck would use. I just thought actually that could be connected to mana screw/flood, like if you don't take any actions on a turn you can scry.

I enjoyed Commander much more before WOTC started pumping out all these shit OP cards for it. It was fun to play jank decks with cards you would otherwise never play with. The idea was to enjoy a slower-paced game that didn't end on turn one. Enter WOTC and... here we are all over again.

Yea, I've played commander for years super casually. I have three decks, two are pretty basic and virtually never win. The third is fast paced and draws lots of heat from the rest of the table, but is super fun to play. Ninjutsu with unblockable creatures, weeeeee.

However, as the years have passed, my decks have become more and more obsolete. The addition of Treasure tokens is what really opened my eyes to the power creep in the game. If you're playing old cards against people who have treasures and food and whatever else is in the game now, you're just at such a massive disadvantage.

Anymore if I play, I'll only play my ninja deck or use one of my friends decks who has kept up with the power curve. Two of my buddies have over 30 commander decks each. It's wild how much they spend on this game.

I'm still amazed that the silly 100 card deck format from Alaska is popular lol. Me and my friends have all been playing since early 90s. And I think only one of us has ever played a commander game lol
