MTG but with Marvel cards/characters? Yeah that's a solid yes from me. Apparently there are going to be multiple full sets of Marvel cards, and the first one is going to be focused on Spiderman and his realm. I'm there for it!

Sneak peak for Final Fantasy Universes Beyond is tomorrow. They started with Kefka so at least someone knows their Final Fantasy.

I am super casual about magic and don't buy a lot, but this set has me hyped for all the artwork showing big moments in games like this.

Please give us Sabin suplexing the Ghost Train!

As much as I'm maling fun of universe beyond people, another Amano card would be insane.

Happy I sold over 90% of my cards the last few years, today's announcements just continued the many years long trend of dumb shit wotc/hasbro is doing.

Do they really think they can get casual players to play Standard and Pioneer? They might try a couple times, then screw right off and go back to Commander.

We knew corporate marketing suits and shareholders are shortsighted and dumb, but this is exceptionally stupid.
They think we are stupid and they are partially right.

For me they built their reputation on top tier game design, for me personally it was Mark Rosewater's articles about game design.

They have been destroying that reputation everytime a new gimmick or money grubbing strategy comes from corporate.

The corporate press releases have surface level attempts to be about feedback and game design but it's very obvious that it's about revenue. They change their mind every few years and reverse course so clearly they are not doing game design with some of this stuff (eg universe beyond legality).

People are still buying this shit so clearly some people are still stupid enough to fall for it. I haven't given them money since probably Return to Zendikar.

It's pretty fun, but the player base is vanishingly small and I'm not sure how it can ever grow with the current speculative frenzy surrounding the game.

Note that the total sales on these are like 0-1 copy per card over the course of months, but the vast majority of the card supply is sitting unopened in peoples basements or listed for sale at these absurd prices because grifters on youtube convinced them it was gonna be the next MTG

On one hand, I'm loving the Marvel cards. Especially going for the memberberries on older versions of the characters, to distract from the SJW mess Marvel is today. On the other hand, you have...

An expansion every two months forever feels like the end of me being able to justify the game. Much more productive things I can do with the time and money. Your singles for Set A will arrive at your house when spoiler season starts for set B.

For all the dumb shit going on, Magic: Foundations looks like it's going in the exact opposite direction of the dumb.
