Christ...I hate to post in this thread. Hell I hate to even read it with some of you guys.
Pippen was NOT top 10 in his era.
I LOVE Jordan and Pippen...and may have seen 90% of their televised games back then. Pippen wasn't even close to the likes of Hakeem, Robinson, Malone etc. He wasn't even the best Robin to Jordan's Batman of the era. I'd give that to Stockton.
As for Lebron...I personally think he would have zero titles back then. For those of you too young to remember Jordan in his prime, You KNEW your team would lose to Chicago. Every team did. No matter how great your team was, you lost. Jordan hit the shots like Ray Allen did the other night time and time again. When he was having an off night shooting, he made sure someone was locked down so hard they became useless. If he was too sick to even be on the court, he told his team what to do on the bench. He really was all world. Lebron would have had to go thru Jordan, when no one could. LOL, Lebron playing against a Rodman in his prime? Lebron really would have been whining all damn night. Lebron shrinks from contact, we all know that. Against Malone, Barkley, Rodman etc, he would have been so frustrated to just take 20 foot jumpers in almost every playoff series. They would have ripped his head off coming in slashing like he does. Barkley would have stabbed him!
And I am one of the few Lebron fans in the world it seems...The dude is sick. But not Jordan sick. No titles back then in my opinion.

I will say (again) that I'm not dumb enough to think he would have sucked in the 80's and early 90's. I've said this countless times. Had he played back then I would have put him on the level of Pippin. Still a very good player, but not a superstar.

The guy just came off one of the most efficient seasons in the history of the modern era of basketball, and only two players have a PER over 27 for their career (James and Jordan). Only three players have ever topped a PER of 31 for a season as well, Wilt, Jordan and James, and James has done it 3 times (4 times over 30). Only two players have higher playoff PERS than him, Jordan and Mikan. I know it's not a perfect stat, but one that puts Wilt, Jordan, and Shaq's dominate seasons towards the top of their list, show they're measuring something well.
He may trust his teammates to a fault, but if Magic can be a super star without a shot and someone like Drexler can score the way he did James would've absolutely had his way in a similar way in the 80/90s. He'd probably averaged close to 10 assists a game though, as ISO hadn't taken over in a way it has now. The guy is one of the greatest players of all time and he's one of the few that could've played in any era, I just feel bad for people who can't appreciate that. When you dudes are a little older maybe and not as bitter you'll get to tell your grandchildren how you didn't get to enjoy Lebron's career because you were too busy ignoring the facts season after season

Imagine if he had to play against guys like Rodman, Laimbeer, the Bad Boys, all while trying to score baskets in the hand check era. Just about every player in NBA would rattle him so hard that he'd be sitting on a bench the entire time in favor of someone who didnt have the fragile psyche of a teenage girl.
Talk about his athletic gifts all you want, they wouldn't have meant much in the 1980s and 1990s without an ironclad mind to back them up.

Throw out as many stats as you want, but Jordan was way more clutch come the 4th quarter than LeBron. How many goofy ass shots did LeBron throw up last game late in the 4th? How many times did he flop and lay there cause he didn't get a whistle? Jordan would never have done any of that shit.
