Most of these places were complained about on the forums by people claiming it was exploiting the spawn rate. I would expect these to be 'fixed' after the patch today. I'm not sure I would bother unless you are looking for a possible ban because it's certainly public and controversial. It gets mentioned in faction chat several times a day. Is a bear spot and a couple named that all are the same and packed with people.
Yeah like the Pastor, that was the first "that's broken as hell" bug I came across personally. A group of like 6 or so purps and greens killing him instantly which provides loot and good xp for him to instantly respawn. I had to ask them to stop for a second so I could complete my quest to get credit

Fixed an issue causing Pastor Walsh to spawn aggressively at the Walsham point of interest (POI)

The looting bug and node mining bug is 100% a Z-Axis issue. you just have to get on the same level or slope to be able to click it

I don't read those forums, but I expected as much. Personally I don't think it's an "exploit" per se; it's more about their dumb respawn rates and playing the game as is.

If they ban a person for playing the game at a spot in the world with a high respawn rate, then they're risking a PR nightmare IMHO.

It's a week in and I'm still enjoying the game very much.
People were so upset about it because a few guilds were power-levelling at these places and taking over the map. Some are petitioning for Amazon to identify and roll back characters lol. They took videos and they post lists of names of people there. It's a thing :)

I'm usually not "that guy", but if you spam music on the in-game voice chat in a settlement, I will report your dumbass.

I forgot about how many autists there are in the world. 🤔

So I made the conversion over to Focus/Con, and added ambers to several weapons, and while I was a little underwhelmed at first because of the lack of BIG NUMBERS with 100 focus, and I do think there is something to that, its still way on the positive side. Want to try Ice gauntlet? Just find some off stat version with focus and a gem slot and boom! Now you are dropping ice storms on folks with less than hour of grinding the weapon from 1 to 8. Scatterclaw? Cave where the grizzlies spaw is great for this because the two times I have been there the grizzlies have been spawning non-stop.
Was discussing these gems with a buddy, since for a bit I thought there were gems for every main stat. Figured I could do a str/con tank with an ice gauntlet with a STR gem. Since it's only for FOC/INT (as a way to give casters a way to have a melee weapon that isn't total garbage), it seemed obvious you would just put amber in everything and just main FOC/CON.

Main reasons not to are a) attribute breakpoints (50/100/150) for STR/DEX/INT are actually pretty big and b) from parsing the damage increase from FOC apparently only applies to the 50% of the weapon damage that is converted by the gem. So my understanding is that an ice gauntlet with an amber gem and focus will do less damage than the same gauntlet straight INT. I'd guess it's done this way since life staff + full strength weapon was too strong.

It's not bad if you're already maining INT/FOC and want to pick up a str/dex weapon to support your build, but it's not the magic "all weapons are usable without respec" I initially thought it was. Still, would be interesting to do FOC/CON with sword/shield and life staff and use an amber gem in the sword when I don't need taunts. Dump sacred ground, beacon and orb and then switch back and stand in it.

That's the paladin build. I've been thinking about trying that as well. I'm currently Life Staff/Hatchet and am full focus to 150 for 20% better heals then rest gets dumped into con. I try to wear gear with focus and con, or str,dex if i have to. My int is like 5.

Warhammer/Life Staff is a good build for amber gem as well.

How bad is the loss in damage/heals going with heavy armor? Is the survivability worth it? I am full heavy, all CON atm and it's fine in open world, but with Simon Grey at 25 and with Gren at 35, I spent most of my time just avoiding attacks, berserk taunting and running around. Would it make sense to be light or medium for the additional range on dodge, or do things get less kitey after 35?

What spicy high level epics and legendaries do you guys know about? I farmed that legendary earring that was posted on reddit (the regen one). And before that I farmed some really strong epic rings from ghosts in Mourningdale. Anyone know any other good farming spots for strong epics/leggos?

I haven't tried anything but medium armor briefly and losing the ability to roll sucked. It isn't just the dodge, it's the running faster with roll/weapon swap (which will run down anyone else who isn't doing it), and you can roll up terrain you wouldn't normally be able to traverse as easy.

If I throw down the life staff dome, circle and swap to axe and berserk, I stay full HP and melt anything, including 3-4 elites of the same level. Granted I'm only 41, so have yet to get to the really 'hard' mobs, but I will let you know.

I think I'd have a hard time staying alive in anything but heavy armor. Healing pulls massive amounts of aggro. I get absolutely raped constantly by mobs hitting me, and the heavy armor is probably the only thing keeping me up.

For instance in Starstone, as soon as adds pop, they instantly run to me because the healing circle pulls aggro (even if everyone was topped up). If your tank isn't able to get them immediately, you're going to be swarmed. And you only get 2 or 3 dodges. It's even worse in portals.

From waht I have been seeing most if not all Nameds drop something good BOP. Sometimes blues, sometimes purps and sometimes even legos. Just a matter of staying there to farm them.

I would usually dome myself then ring a mob on pull. Replace dome on tank after first if fight is still on. Anything that comes to me, I swap to axe, berserk and dps. If the dps in group are smart, they shift and take it out also. I also slot every gem outside weapons with threat reduction. It helps.

The one concern I have with this game is that when I go out to harvest and then come back to town to craft, I see a shit ton of people doing the same thing. It makes me wonder if there will be anything special about being a harvester/crafter in this game or if it will just be a "yeah I do that too" thing.

I don't mind putting in hundreds of hours to skill up harvesting and/or crafting as long as I know the end result is that my efforts will be valuable on the server I am on. If every other character on the server is maxed harvesting/crafting, then there is no real benefit to putting all that time in to it.

I hope I'm wrong because harvesting is one of my favorite things in MMOs. I truly loved harvesting in Vanguard until Silious fucked it up beyond recognition by making everything drop off of random mobs all over the planet. What a fucking dipshit. I hated that guy.

I haven’t encountered blight debuff yet - does the ice block debuff removal talent cleanse it?

I think the grind for trade-skills above 150 is pretty significant but maxing gathering I don't think will be that rare. You will be capped for gathering well before capping all the trade-skills. Someone with 200 in everything will still be quite impressive, I think.

EDIT: I wouldn't be surprised to see a RMT market pop up for perfect roll items.

The ability to do this with every crafting skill is what validates your concern. It boils down to taking advantage of the situation before others realize they can also just go farm it. I have purchased stuff off the Auction house when it speeds up a process. I chose not to wait on becoming able to craft the star tools because having them saved me time and gained me resources. In the end though, everybody will be able to make their own.

Will players choose to go through the pretty boring process to get to 200 in every skill is a better question. I do think a lot will but a lot more players will just play the game for the other aspects and then quit, until new content comes out.

Its like Everquest and World of warcraft and most all other MMO's. Instead of just taking 8 hours they say 4 and then piss people off because they have to extend it. Take the time you think you can do everything and then double it, and that is the time you set. Players tend to not get pissy if servers come up early.

Buggy ass game. Logged in thinking the game would be up, and the client is in its stupid fullscreen yet not fullscreen mode (shows the border) and it won't get out of it.
