Being in Medium vs Light makes such a massive difference in your survivability though. Same goes with Heavy vs Medium. I love the roll, but it's just too fragile. I think within a few weeks we will have a meta where absolutely nobody goes light anymore. They need to buff the light damage/healing again imo.

Also, once you get 50+ mobs start hitting so hard, and you can only roll so many times. I'm considering going Heavy now because the sidestep is enough for almost everything anyways. And in 50v50 pvp it doesn't matter how far you dodge away from one attack anyways, for the most part. Because there's so much shit.

Its like Everquest and World of warcraft and most all other MMO's. Instead of just taking 8 hours they say 4 and then piss people off because they have to extend it. Take the time you think you can do everything and then double it, and that is the time you set. Players tend to not get pissy if servers come up early.

I am amazed more people don't understand this and apply it to every aspect of their lives.

Buggy ass game. Logged in thinking the game would be up, and the client is in its stupid fullscreen yet not fullscreen mode (shows the border) and it won't get out of it.
Did you try pressing ALT+Enter? It worked for me in the past.

Everyone here needs to pay the fuck attention to this. During beta I could tank armine with a mix of med/heavy around level 20 ish with zero issues. Fast forward to release and you need full con/full heavy at 22 to just survive.

Sure, never works. I went to Taskbar Settings and enabled the Taskbar to be hidden during desktop mode, and that worked. Yet now, I get an error: Unexpected steam_appid.txt file found. Closes the game.

Edit: Error was caused by trying to run the game in Admin mode (creates that txt file). Changed it back to run normally and deleted the txt file, loads up. Disabled the "hide taskbar in desktop mode" also fixed the bordered fullscreen oddity.

It will be interesting to see what the arena meta is.

If I gotta go plate healer, I will. Looks a ton better. I just love to roll around like a doofus all over the place. All the people chasing portals or staring at town boards are missing out. Go play outside.

Right click on game and choose properties then verify game files. This sometimes solves that error.

Same thing happened to me a few days ago. Exact same sequence. I had a windows update to do and after I rebooted it was fixed. Maybe just a machine restart first.

I am amazed more people don't understand this and apply it to every aspect of their lives.

I can't remember the name for the proper term (was from a book on behavioral economics) but we're supposedly terrible at estimating how long our own shit is going to take to do. Someone else's shit and we can be objective but people just routinely give themselves glowing timelines with no room for anything unexpected.

My healer partner and I are already theorycrafting this for end game as he takes hits with me and we've had close calls. The other night we wall to wall pulled amrine and had a real blast. It's real fucking fun to pull the two bridge mini bosses plus the forwarding bridge trash at once. Don't fuck up as a tank is all i'm going to say.

Yeah man it's ridiculous how much tankier you are in heavier armor. It actually feels really nice to have an MMORPG where your gear choices make such a massive impact that you notice 100%.

The ability to do this with every crafting skill is what validates your concern. It boils down to taking advantage of the situation before others realize they can also just go farm it. I have purchased stuff off the Auction house when it speeds up a process. I chose not to wait on becoming able to craft the star tools because having them saved me time and gained me resources. In the end though, everybody will be able to make their own.

Will players choose to go through the pretty boring process to get to 200 in every skill is a better question. I do think a lot will but a lot more players will just play the game for the other aspects and then quit, until new content comes out.

Fears are unfounded. FF14 allows omnicrafting and gathering. While a healthy chunk do this, even more don’t. Economy is healthy and you can make profits off the people who don’t do that sort of thing

Just keep in mind gathering bots are a real thing in this game and temper your expectations

The one concern I have with this game is that when I go out to harvest and then come back to town to craft, I see a shit ton of people doing the same thing. It makes me wonder if there will be anything special about being a harvester/crafter in this game or if it will just be a "yeah I do that too" thing.

I don't mind putting in hundreds of hours to skill up harvesting and/or crafting as long as I know the end result is that my efforts will be valuable on the server I am on. If every other character on the server is maxed harvesting/crafting, then there is no real benefit to putting all that time in to it.

I hope I'm wrong because harvesting is one of my favorite things in MMOs. I truly loved harvesting in Vanguard until Silious fucked it up beyond recognition by making everything drop off of random mobs all over the planet. What a fucking dipshit. I hated that guy.

I think once people realize just HOW MUCH they will have to harvest for later tiers, they'll leave that crap to the dedicated harvester/crafter types. I'm a bit of a completionist, and it's nice to see all my harvest skills keeping up. But man, the amount of materials across *all* tiers you need just to raise crafting skills to make higher level stuff is stupid. Then on top of that you need to open a crazy amount of loot boxes, hoping to get sandpaper, or whatever you currently need to process mats. And each new tier will add to that *exponentially*. I really hope they change it.

Not saying using bushes to mass stealth isn't something cool, but stealth ambush is a regular thing in gw2.
Stealth ambush is a tactic in general and exists outside of gaming, that wasn't the point of post, so you must of missed it. The clip displays NW's unique stealth mechanic which is amazing.

Edit: in the future i'll label my clips for ppl.

For sure. Just taking armoring for example if you use fibers, the breakdown is like this:

0 - 50: 2,376 fibers
51 - 100: 20,480 fibers
101 - 200: 373,874 fibers

Add rawhide at about 60% of those numbers for each leveling range. And that's just a single skill. I'm honestly not sure how possible it'll be just because you're competing with other people.

Yeah all my gathering/refining is at 130ish range now. My actual trade crafts are mostly in the 80-100ish range. Grinding out levels now costs asstons of materials that I am never going to recoup via selling crafted items as people already put prices into the dirt.

My gold stream largely comes from buying under cost i.e. 1kgold runes of holding for 200g etc or with buy orders that I flip later. If there was a quick way to figure out arbitrage assets you could be a millionaire right now. I see TONS of shit that people sell for under buy orders every day since we've started. I just don't want to live on the trading post and ping pong around but if thats your jam the time is now.
