Not since SWG has crafting every really "mattered" or been something that isn't done by 9 billion other people. Tradeskills are such a waste of time in modern MMOs. You'd be better off spending your time doing almost ANYTHING else to earn money - why do you think crafting/gathering is so heavily botted? Because you're better off using that time doing other shit.

Whats concerning about crafting in this game overall is the sheer amount of really good gear drops and even pots in the wild, that crafted shit better be some god tier armor or weapons to be worthwhile sinking 100s of hours into harvesting and crafting.

Im not sure what the goal of this economy is in their eyes. Its as if they wanted thios game to be pure crafting based econ, then later switched their minds and added a ton of PvE loot.

Sorry for audio but just wanted to upload this quickly got his boom stick doing this no idea if a bug or by design since quest mob. a single group can spawn him on repeat, I tried solo and he would take a few minutes to respawn.

Yeah this is pretty commonly done. You can get various named epic and legendary loots, recipes etc. from these npcs scattered about kind of EQ like targeted farming.

Bad take IMO. It depends on the game. Crafting in ff14 is very viable both from a profit and gear quality perspective

It won't be, it never is.

You're 100% better served just farming mobs or playing markets. Every time. Like I said, SWG was the last time crafting/tradeskills "mattered" in a "major" MMO and were a viable economic path.

Unless you go the Albion Online route, where ALL gear in the game is player-crafted. Any sort of "hybrid" model like this always results in tradeskills being a waste of your time. For them to be worth a shit, they have to be the BEST path to gear (pisses off the WoW crowd) or the ONLY path to gear.

Skinning steal is out of control. they should just add a 10 sec skinning priority to whoever kill a mob/dmg the mob the most

Judging crafting on 1-30 is not a great metric. Up through then you can sort of brute force your way through the levels. As people said, once you start getting to the higher level shit, you'll be way better served just buying the pieces you want than rolling for them. Leave that nutjob shit for the crafters.

Is there tagging in this? The one time I was hitting things with multiple people for quest kills and the mobs were slightly limited, some kills I was getting credit for and others not, but I couldn't figure out if it was a first-hit thing or damage-based, etc.

Yeah, skin stealing is this game's kill stealing for sure. Sucks ass when you need to skin a mob with a long respawn.
