oh yeah the orb things I forgot how retarded that shit was. For a game with so little content gatekeeping your piddling amount of pve content behind time locked crafted orbs was fucking retarded.

It made it so the only thing to do end game was run around in a massive raid training past all the mobs to interact with chests, or hoping and praying that you won the lottery and you got in to one of the 50 vs 50 node wars, which lasted all of 1 week before 1 guild per server took over everything and there was no longer any PVP content to do.

One thing this soft relaunch has made me realize is after watching the cutscenes with Grace, they need to add dual pistols. I want to go John Blackthorne Wick on corrupted and angry earth lol
I thought they were going to have the option to dual wield the blunderbuss or something similar when the blunderbuss was being teased. Fucking lame that NPC's have entire move sets dedicated to dual PISTOLS, not Blunderbuss and they never added them.

Really, outside of the grind - the lack of weapons, and what felt like.. they were arbitrarily adding what weapons THEY wanted to add to the game instead of what the general populace wanted.. was a real let down. Crafting, after you've put in all that grind work.. is also a real let down at max level. Its all stick and no carrot*.

Yeah I have no intention of raising my crafting skill like I did on my other character. I will however raise up all of the resource farming skills as I just tend to sell it back to market and make descent gold. If you just sell what is collected, you tend to be able to afford whatever you want, over crafting it.

Crafting ended up being a bunch of bullshit anyway. You had to own expensive rare ass statues or whatever in your house, then equip rare ass gear that dropped from bosses which everyone and their mother was camping at the time in order to craft the high end shit. Then you needed rare ass drops for some of the craftables which dropped from mobs, plus not to mention the rare ass ingredients which were time gated. And thenn after all that, it still ended up being RNG BS in the end with the suffixes and shit so you basically spent all this money and time to craft some BS that no one wanted and laughed at.

My favorite was when you died, every single piece of all your crafting / adventure armor sets in your inventory took damage :p

OMG, I remember when we were trying to do the first run of the final dungeon, server first, after we just got done with a chest run. We got stuck on that snake bitch, the one which casts an AOE on each player? anyway all of our shit was fucked after that dungeon, I think I deleted like 1/2 of it and the rest cost me huge on the upgrade parts or whatever the fuck it was.

I find it interesting that after all the conversations we've had about the game and what was wrong with... we never really hit the nail on the head until we were presented with an opportunity to start over again, and it reminded us of all the things that we hated about the game. Which, directly or indirectly, caused us to quit. All within the last page, ha.

For the last 1-2 month or so only thing that kept me in the game was the buds I made. Without them I would have quit even sooner. Especially after switching servers to one of the big ones (the one that Asmon was on). Just way too many people and the large guilds already controlled everything and there was not a thing we could do, believe me we tried. They were all equipped with that armor you crafted after materials dupe thing. And they didnt do shit about it. (there is no way enitre guilds could get that amount of those rare ass mats when they were limited to only a few a day.) That was another thing that sucked too. People were jumping ship left and right for other servers with the free passes they gave out. They didnt really handle that well at all. 3/4 of the servers were dead at that point.

I am hoping they spent the last whatever fixing all that shit. It really is a fun game but so many exploits and "broken" parts of the game, particularly for me at the end I just stopped playing since I wasn't involved in the PVP battles, there was no Eve-style territorial wars, no Eve-style equipment replacement driving the player economy but there were a ton of issues related to the in-game economy, etc etc etc.

I really enjoy the skilling up/leveling each weapons and the quests are good, the gathering is fun, the crafting is fun , the PVE is good as well but hopefully they have answers to all of these questions and more.

The leveling and content was great but only because I got ahead of the horde (COVID work from home) And I was dedicating massive amounts of time to it. Work was slow at the time so I would play literally all fucking day. My ass fuckign hurt from sitting, lol. But I had entire zones to myself 25-30+ which made all the questing, the gathering, and all the rest a pleasure. But yeah, the game just fell apart 48+, the quests all dried up, I had to resort to grinding, doing the faction PVP quest thing, and the town bulletin boards.

When I got to end game, yeah that was fun for a while, maybe a month or two when we were doing the chest runs with a small crew where we were CLEARING those places because we had to. There was only like 8-10 of us at the start and I was tanking all that shit because I was the only tank there. Plus the dungeon content was also great the first few times. I was also lucky to meet up with like minded players and form a guild which crushed all opposition on our server PVP war wise. But that ended up being a bad thing in the end, because everyone on server was calling us exploiters (no we didnt cheat we just had an ace shot caller and we were top geared for the time) and it lead to the rapid demise of the server. The biggest guild next to us quit and transferred, because we spanked them in like 3 wars which lead to pretty much entire server dying at that point. Liek 1/2 of our guild quit because game was boring, and the core group of us decided to transfer. There was only like 200 people on the server prime time at that point, down from thousands. Even the PvP instance thing didnt pop except maybe one time during prime time a night. But we might as well all quit because our guild was shattered and there was still nothing to do. We did a few wars with some mercenaries filling our ranks on the new server, but we got crushed and crushed HARD.

Look im not trying to shit in your cereal here bro, I mean, maybe the game is different now, I mean it should be. They had 3 fucking years to fix it. And like I said the leveling content was great, I had a blast. Plus the combat was fun as hell too. Something different rather than the tab targeting BS weve been fed for years. there was actually a skill gap there in PvP.

By all means, have faith in your abilities. But I find it really hard to believe that anyone in the "top" guild on their server, didnt cheat or exploit in some form or fashion in the first handful of months of the games release. There were so many bugs that came to light over that time, that even if you thought your guild was the most altrustic, honest, most beloved saints in the world - they were probably cheating/exploiting and didnt even know it (at best).

Remember the Horns that you could blow multiple times over and get a massive buff if you owned the Fort? Or remember how one of the damage increase potions you could take inside of a ballista and it would raise, not yours, but the ballista's damage that amount? (hilarious, but stupid af and obviously not intended). Or what about sitting over and over inside of the healing circle to heal? Or what about simply alt tabbing out mid air in a jump to get invulnerability? Or any of the other invulnerability bugs that came from D/C'ing (or limiting your connection), or any of the graphical bugs that would cause the same effect? Or what about the fucking laundry list of fucking bugs that came to light dealing with the Hatchet and its healing effects? Hell, I know of some bugs and just.. never figured out how they worked, cause they were getting fixed by the time I actually knew they existed? This is of course ignoring ALL the DUPES that were and probably are still rampant to some degree to this very day.

Again, if you were all the 0.01% that were actually honest in your conquest of world domination at the top end.. I give you props. Its just that the game had so many bugs from front to back, that it annoys the ever living piss out of me when people brag about just how "good" their guild was. Because from my view point - it makes me question every single time Ive ever lost a PVP battle in New World.

.. As far as now, I give the game the benefit of the doubt that they have learned a lot and changed a lot to be better. But we all know its just too little, too late. I dont fault anyone for giving their time to it - its not like it costs anything to play the game. But when the memory really starts flowing for why this game was awful, boy.. does it remind of you of all the ways this game was fucked from the top to the bottom.

I think its a good thing people can come back and have these kind of memorable responses honestly. NW 2021 release might as well been the great sex, ugly girl type woman and now shes easily a 7/10 - but do you return to an ex? nah not most.

Welp, I don't know if the endgame issues are fixed but what have they spent three years doing? They made Yonas less black it seems, made leveling WAAAY easier, I guess fixed all the dupe bugs in the economy but didn't fix the economy, really? Maybe its going to shake out. They have made the spawns made crazy, though. I (and everyone else) found a mine where tons of mobs spawn, so we formed a raid and I leveled all my weapons up to 15ish and gained about 8 char levels in about 6 hours. Tons of fun, and got stupid challenging of we ended the AM day and went into the EU day, Spawn rate didn't slow down, so what was easy with 30 of us wasn't as carefree with 6: it became a desperate fight for survival. Eventually the EU people joined in and it got easier but I imagine there are dozens of spots like this still in the game, and probably not just in leveling/skilling up. Still in wait and see mode but expectations are way lower.

Been leveling casually and loving it. Its retardedly easy now and very fast. I just want to be able to buy both deluxe edition items in the store. The new 10 man raid has been cleared and I heard is a good fun

Yeah leveling is crazy easy now. I'm already 61 and just play after work. It does help that I already know how to level though compared to when it first came out.

Finally hit 65, still doing MSQ. But does anyone have a TLDR breakdown on how to quickly gear up? Or what kind of things I should be focusing on?
