Isn't one of SF's best o-line still holding out? After this preseason they might want to just pay him.

Pretty pointless argument above, btw. To me this isn't the make or break year for Kaepernick. Regardless of whether he sucks or not Greg Roman will be the scapegoat if it falls apart.

Yes, Alex Boone is making a great case for himself by the way they O-line is playing without him. And yes the above discussion is retarded like all conversations with Araysar are. I apologize for taking part in it.

I'm a 49ers fan, and I don't think that is out of the realm of possibility at all. There are a ton of questions on that team right now, and as much as I don't want to read into the pre-season, it has me worried.

Do they have protocols in place that if you sustain 'x' amount of concussions you are basically out of the league? Seems like they should if they don't

That was mostly because of allegations of covering up injuries and not putting the cards on the table about the medications given or injuries sustained

Doesn't matter, the concussions thing is just PR for the league. The real issue is the repeated low grade head trauma happening to guys on the lines. Not skill position players getting blown up sometimes. Steve Young, as concussed a man as ever was, even said in that Frontline expose/documentary its not him you should worry about, its his lineman brothers.

Really interesting watch when you have time. The league wants you to focus on big hits all the time but the reality is that all the "safety" moves they are making mean jack and shit. If the research described is accurate, the game itself as played in the trenches causes long term brain damage.

It is basically like long term effects of boxing vs MMA. Most research shows MMA is safer since you take one big blow, you go unconscious and that is it. But in boxing your brain is rattling around in your head for an extended period of time.

Its the exact same thing as I understand it. With the implication being that widespread understanding of that fact is a major threat to the marketability of the league and the number of parents who would continue to allow kids to play it.

Yea...I think Merriweather has been trying to make up for the embarrassment of this failed tackle/trucking (and then getting hurdled) he got in college. This play won the ESPY that year iirc.
