It wasn't grounding, it was miscommunication.
Which is grounding, and is supposed to be called as grounding, and has been called as grounding throughout the season. It doesn't matter if your receiver runs the wrong route, if you are in the pocket and throw the ball to nobody, that is grounding.

QB has to be under pressure for it to be grounding. Pretty sure on that particular play to Dez he wasn't.

It's not intentional grounding.

Rule:
ntentional grounding will be called when a passer, facing an imminent loss of yardage due to pressure from the defense, throws a forward pass without a realistic chance of completion

Exactly. If there wasn't the "imminent loss of yardage" stipulation then spiking the ball could be considered intentional grounding.

Well, looking forward to next year for the 49ers. Really worried about what coach they are going to bring in. I understand Harbaugh grates on people, but fuck me if he didn't turn that team around. Yes, Roman needs to go, but he was not the only problem this year. The offensive line was decimated and never had a chance to gel together.

I can only assume Crabtree walks, and probably Iupati as they will both want too much money. I hope they are able to sign Gore so he can retire a 49er, but at the same time if he can go to a contender and get a ring, that would be cool too.

Feels like such a wasted season.

Chiefs and Chargers are going to be fighting for a playoff spot, and they play each other in the last game of the year.

Next week, the Chiefs play at Pittsburgh. That's going to be an odd game to predict.

I want Gore to get a ring. If for no other reason than the fact that he had to deal with absolute dogshit teams for so long, as theonlyoffensive weapon. So, I hope he signs with a contender. The Colts will probably be interested, because Richardson is garbage.

I'd love for Fangio to get the HC job and Ryan brought in as DC, but I think the whole "Harbaugh" staff will walk. In that case, I'd be fine with Tomsula/Ryan as HC and the other as DC. I saw a tweet earlier in the week that rang pretty true, "Jim Harbaugh will likely be the most sought after HC candidate and the 49ers will be the most attractive HC job".

Chargers had a pretty tough schedule for the last four games. They need to win the next two to have a shot but it could go either way in both games.

With as much time Romo had there before getting sacked and fumbling the ball, even Catler could have thrown an interception during that time.
