According to Wikipedia candlestick held just under 70k by a few hundred seats. They might be nicer seats overall but seems they've sold themselves short. Have the 9'ers ever had a blacked out game?

Not that I can remember. Even in the Nolan/Singletary sewer period there was never a blacked out game.

With all the bruhaha with Buffalo and the chance of Bon Jovi moving the team to Toronto, has anyone considered instead an expansion team or do you think Toronto needs a somewhat established team?

The NFL is hell bent with seeing an expansion (or maybe the Jags but I doubt it) team in London and said it could be as soon as 5 years or 10 years realistically. I think it was good ol' Roger G that said that if / when they do place a team in London, it would be an expansion team and they would probably expand the league by 2 to even things out. If that is the case, why not when they place the expansion team in London, place the other team in Toronto?

It's been mentioned before, but I think the logistical nightmare of having a team in London would be prohibitive. I'm sure Roger-boy is paying someone full time to come up with a scheme to make it happen, though.

Tickets to college games are a shitload less expensive than NFL games
Well, they are if you average in students getting in very cheaply(or even free). But your average adult buying a ticket to a game is VERY expensive in college for top-tier teams. I'd say big conference teams(SEC, Big 10, Pac 10, etc) are every bit as expensive as most NFL tickets, but the smaller schools and lower-end teams are definitely cheaper than the NFL. But getting a ticket for an Alabama game is going to be just as pricey and hard to get as a ticket to a Giants or Patriots game.

And no player wants to live in England. Have you seen their tax rate on millionaires? There's a reason British musicians and actors almost all end up moving to the US. Income taxes in Britain are VERY high. I think their top tax bracket if you make over 150K pounds per year is at least 50%. It was as high as 90% just a few decades ago, so it's a little more reasonable now.

Is there any credible research out there that will show London actually supporting an NFL franchise over the long term? Like this is the league that forces the Jaguars to cover up empty seats with huge tarps to try and hide from the cameras. Hard to imagine the NFL's boner over a short term cash grab lasting long if the hype doesn't last forever and they've got a half filled stadium week in and week out.

And yeah, good luck getting the top free agents to go there. A guy with options is not going to London.

From wiki

The games have been popular, with tickets for the two games per season selling out in two days, nine months in advance. According to the NFL, only 3% of those attending the London games are Americans or American expatriates, while 22% are from London and 60% from elsewhere in Britain.
I'm not sure if they'd support a full-time team for any extended period of time, though. Good question.
