So I hear some guy died in SF's new stadium. Apparently there were a lot of emergency calls due to 80 degree temps. 80 eh? 80 is a damn cold front down here, I would take 80 all day.

Not overly concerned with how bad the 49ers have looked. They were trash the first 2 games last year and Colt McCoy was just as bad as Gabbert has been. What does concern me is with the backup quarterback play being such trash, it's hurting the other players on offense. The receivers, tight ends, and backs aren't getting a fair look because Gabbert and Johnson just can't move the sticks or complete passes. They've had a lot of points scored on them, but there are some exciting players on defense as well; Carradine, Dial, Dontae Johnson, and I read Kenneth Acker and Aaron Lynch had solid games. I turned it off at halftime though, so didn't see.

He's definitely an accomplished thespian. Got a bright future after he finishes his career with the Chiefs.

This is the first preseason game I've actually watched this year. If this amount of flags is indicative of what the regular season will be like, I doubt I make it to week 3 before I give up on this shit.

Yeah most things I have read said that most NFL people expect the number of flags to go down for the regular season as this is bad football to watch

I would hope so, but then you have stuff like this:

Dean Blandino: NFL 'not going to change how we're calling the game'

It's pretty swell that football is back and all, even if it's the preseason. Not so swell: the barrage of penalty flags we've seen in the first two-and-change weeks, most of them on the defense for things like illegal contact and defensive holding.

Bad news: the NFL's head of officiating, Dean Blandino, told Peter King of theMMQB.com the league is "not going to change" things up once the real action starts.

We're not going to change how we're calling the games once the regular season starts,'' Blandino said.

Ugh. Blandino also said he "knew" the league would see a spike in calls when they changed the rules up and added "these points of emphasis."

"The way the game's being officiated now is the way it's going to be officiated when the season begins," Blandino said. "We have to remain consistent. I knew we'd see a spike in calls when we put out these points of emphasis. But coaches adjust, and players adjust. They have to, and they know it. And we'll correct our officials when we feel they're being over-zealous with certain calls."

I still don't understand the rationale for the extra attention. Is there anyone not named Roger that believes that scoring is being suppressed to the point of ruining the game? The next step is QB/WR wearing flags. Everyone else plays tackle football...for now.

Manziel is fucking terrible, my god. He can run, but I think I've seen better throws from local high school QBs.

Thank the Seahawks for all the flags this year. We'll see if their secondary is still as amazing as they were last year if they aren't allowed to hold on every play.

They will still crap all over your team. Sorry about your luck.
