The only reason weird as fuck offensive packages exist in college is because the defense is so fucking bad. JFF could run all over the field and then just blindly chuck it to Evans and he won a Heisman because of it. Now he gets sacked and taunted by 7th round picks.

0-16 Lions destroy any college team that ever suited up. I would guess it starts with the lines. Miami surely had offensive and defensive lineman that never played or had marginal careers in the NFL. Over the course of a 3 hour football game they would be annihilated by the NFL player on the other side of the line and all of those skill players wouldn't be doing shit. Unblocked NFL defensive ends could throw a college QB off his rhythm, am i rite?

This argument is dumb. College teams cannot even compete with NFL teams. Every player on an NFL roster was a badass in college. Hell, take Michael Sam, he just won the best defensive player in the SEC last year and went at the tail end of the 7th round.
He went at the tail end of the 7th round because he was a faggot, not because of his poor play.

I don't understand the hate concerning the guy, SEC defensive player of the year, and tearing it up in Preseason (sure its on the back end) but the guy has thrived on the football field against on any level, cut his ass I'd take him on the Cowboys regardless of all the gay jokes and steers and queers in Texas and all that.

Interested to see if he makes it past Saturday, the little I've seen/read about his preseason sounds like he is doing just fine playing wise.

It's because he's a faggot.

Revisionist nonsense. He was a third day if not undrafted prospect from the very beginning. The most common comment among observers when the news came out was "I wish he was a better player". I assume he stays on the team, but deep into the special teams ranks, and doesn't survive next year's camp.

And we've covered this all before. The (even sub-)average college player was the best player on his high school team; the average NFL player was the best player on his college team. Even college gimmicks like the Wildcat won't survive a year in the NFL.

Gold!

Most of these previews are just a rehashing of shit you already knew, because most teams don't change all that much from year to year. They all suck for the same reasons. And then? then there are teams like the Browns, who can spend a 12-month stretch fucking up in enough novel ways to fill up an entire book.Between the Browns and the Redskins, all the fucking up has been monopolized. They do not share their incompetence with other teams. They hog it all for themselves, which is kinda selfish, really.

Why Your Team Sucks 2014: Cincinnati Bengals

Cincinnati is a weird place. It's an alternate reality where the South won the Civil War and the city was turned into an orphaned, international buffer zone between the Union and the Confederacy. In the weird alternate reality that is "The Nati", Pete Rose is the supreme all-time mayor. Food rationing during the war led people to create a replacement spaghetti that consisted of canned chili on bagged noodles with government cheese. To this day, they prefer the substitute spaghetti more than the real thing, even though it is wretched. In the city of Cincinnati, NASCAR, baseball, and college basketball are the only three sports that matter. In Cincinnati, restaurants just float away. The local economy is totally based on prescription painkillers and custom built cornhole boards. Opinions are dictated by talk radio trolls. The Emerald Ash Borer and bedbugs have united to ruin all spaces outside and in. Forensics students at the University of Cincinnati have the unique opportunity to hold class outside at a real unsolved crime scene every single day. And all the teachers at the local high schools have to preregister as sex offenders. With all of this, the upstart perpetual expansion team that is the Bengals, with their cheapskate owner and literacy first approach to logos, just can't find a loving audience.

Belichick made his career by drafting Tom Brady in the 6th round of the draft his first year as head coach of the Patriots. It would be very interesting to see what would have happened to Belichick if he didn't have Brady for his entire career as Patriots head coach. He certainly didn't do anything special when he coached the Browns.

I heard an interview the other day with Herm Edwards and they asked him if he would ever coach again and his answer was something along the lines of "I would only do it if I could coach a team with a top 5 quarterback but that will never happen because coaches of teams with a top 5 quarterback never get fired."

Before he came out he was projected as a second round pick. It was later during his awful combine that his stock dropped. He's been really good this preseason considering where he was drafted. If they end up cutting him at this point then why did they waste a draft pick on him?

Yeah, Belichick would probably suck with another QB at the helm. Would be lucky to get to double digit wins in a season.
