So whats the 411 on the Michael Sam deal? Did the rams drop him because he didn't make the grade? What specifically did they not like about him?

Looking at his record in 4 games ( In four exhibition games, Sam had 11 tackles and three sacks, including a team-leading six tackles in the final game.)
Doesn't look terrible at all

I guess I shouldn't complain, Dallas needs anyone at this point.

Did anyone read this article with Jerry about Manziel?

His son made the right decision.

Their reasoning was they already have a lot of depth at his position, which they do. My only question is why they drafted him in the first place. He played well above expectations so don't see how he could have ever made the team.

Either way he's a decent fit in Dallas as they do a 4-3 and really need DE help

The last I heard was that Gronk was playing but was going to see limited snaps. Even with limited it should be enough to light us up, but we shall see.

He was a late round draft pick. Most late round draft picks don't make it into the NFL.
I forget the exact % but the number of 7th round draft picks who made the team was higher than I thought it would have been. It was over 60% iirc.

Michael Sam could have made the Ram's team, but they had an UDFA that they liked better than him. They kept the UDFA and since they were already stacked with that position, they used their practice squad spots for different positions.

They've been making those jokes for the last 40+years....

Honestly, I could give a shit if they are all faggots as long as they win another Superbowl.

Right now I'm getting a sense of deja-vu when it comes to the current state of the team. It feels exactly like it did in 2005 with the rebuild Parcells did. I also get the sense JG will not be around to see the result of his efforts.

Gronk seems to think he'll play every snap, we'll see. He hasn't done much lately against the Dolphins, but Wheeler is trash and Misi has been struggling so it should be interesting.

Someone on reddit said the news conference is just their regularly scheduled media time. No idea if true or not.

Of course it isn't true. The media would never over dramatize something in order to make something out of nothing and get a higher rating.

I didn't realize the 2005 team put one of the worst defenses in league history on the field. Also, the results will be a team needing starters at almost every single defensive position, LG, RT, and QB. Oh poor JG, really getting the shaft.

This is the exact opposite of the 2005 Cowboys

Yeah and Jason Garrett refused to answer questions about it more than just a few initial questions or to put it in his words, hes already covered the announcement of a PS player and the attention should be on the 49ers. They didn't do anything special for Sam at all.
