Disturbing video shows 49ers fans beating Vikings fan | ProFootballTalk

Guess I need to call out some fellow "fans" here, but I feel like every week there is another story like this and not limited to my team. IT is SO incredibly stupid. If you are so wrapped up in your sports team that you feel the need to verbally and/or physically assault another person over what is just A GAME then it is time to reevaluate your life.

If you cannot give out or take GOOD NATURED "trash talk" without it devolving into a situation like in this article, do everyone a favor and stay away until you learn some perspective and how to keep your emotions in check.

I really wouldn't want anything to do with a live NFL game. For some reason it really just brings out the worst in a lot of people.

I've been to Steelers/Ravens games and Steelers/Browns games and also Penguins/Capitals and Pens/Flyers games, all pretty bad blood rivalries(though the Browns one is pretty laughable now). Tons of trash talk and good natured ribbing, zero violence or even the mild threat of it. Assholes will be assholes and find an excuse to fight, it just seems like those assholes on either coast have congregated in San Fran and Philly.

Yeah, been to Skins/Ravens, Skins/Cowboys, and basically Capitals vs any of their rivals (Penguins/Flyers/Rangers) and you just hear a lot of trash talk. Saw 1 fight at Redskins/Ravens game, but it was involving a guy in a Jags jersey (which was odd as shit).

I used to go to the Seahawks/Niners games in Seattle every year. As the rivalry intensified it became pretty clear that I needed to stop going. In the stands was always fine and actually a lot of fun. The good natured kind of trash talk. But always leaving the stadium things could degenerate pretty quickly for anyone in Niners gear. Win or lose all I'd be doing is trying to get to my car, not interacting with anyone outside of my circle of friends and more than once I was shoved and/or spit on.

Shit other Seahawks fans have heckled me after games and I was wearing Seahawks gear. Drunk agressive fuckholes doing what they do. I do agree that it's bullshit however.

I never understood the fan on fan hate. Hate the team, not the fans of the team; they are doing the same thing you are.

At the games I've gone to, I've always enjoyed talking to the other teams fans. Let me clarify, the non-asshole fans. Of course there is always the fun trash talk, but nothing serious. I've never had a really obnoxious opposing fan in my face, so to be honest, I'm not sure what I'd do. Luckily, I've always been physically big enough that not too many sober people want to fuck with me. I'm there to have fun, not fight.

Bills fans routinely rate as the most drunken and there's a serious inferiority complex going on around here after a 15 year playoff drought. The Ralph is also fucking horrible to get to. So even though I could easily afford to go to the game in December, all those factors combined (and the fact that it's in DECEMBER) has me giving it a pass. Going would be lose all around, regardless of the outcome of the game.

this next game at the Ralph is going to be worth going to, just to watch the Bills' defense intentionally fuck up Brady.

I've never seen a fight at a Ravens game, but I go from the light rail into the stadium and back out most times. I'm sure there's been some scuffles among shitfaced people in tailgating, but I've never heard of anything too crazy or seen anything go down on the train. I've seen people get bumped into in the halls and shit so I'm sure stuff has escalated before.

Never really seen much at Bucs games, but then again we're usually so terrible we end up cheering for the other team anyway. Lightning games however... man those Rangers fans are uppity.

Buccs fans are expected to harass themselves at games as its a bit like picking on the special kid otherwise.

Fanbase stereotypes are all confirmed by going to games though. Especially Boston/New England fans. Fuck those people.

Its the bay area fucktards (Oakland and San Fran) that are some of the worst people to attend sporting events on the planet. If you leave a Lambeau game, you might get a beer tossed at you or some shit talk from a Vikings fan, but that's the extent of it. I turned down free tickets to see the Pack in San Fran because I don't want to get stabbed.

I have at least 20 friends who were at the Bengals @ Raiders game this past weekend and they were all Bengals'ed out. Zero incidences. I was surprised - especially with the blowout.

Only fan BS I ever dealt with was a few years ago at a SF Giants game when the Reds were in town. People were throwing shit and getting up in our faces yelling stupid stuff. I've hated the Giants since.

The Oakland crowd tends to do their stabbing late, so if its a blowout, they will all be gone by the time a visitor bails. That whole area is a shithole, though, so it is not strictly a fanbase thing as much as it is a west bay area thing. Massachusetts fans, on the other hand, have no excuse for being the way they are......

I feel like being disturbed, but the video is gone. Anyone got a working link?
