Well Chargers are in a great spot since most everyone has Bosa or Tunsil as the best players in this draft, and Browns at 2 are taking a QB most likely meaning you will get one, and either are desperately needed in SD.
Oh that Cleveland carousel.

Slightly misleading as they frankly got more value out of Manziel than their other, HIGHER 1st rounder in 2014.

Feel like the Chargers tanked last season on purpose. Can't be in the playoffs and try to move to LA.

Watched that team several times last year and felt like they really weren't anywhere as close to bad as their record indicated. Injuries to key guys didn't help much either.

Actually think they're almost in a better position than the Rams because at least they have Rivers.
Well we lost something like 8 games by 1 score . They were all close and we lost them all means we have shitty coaching in my opinion.

I used to say stuff like that. "The Redskins weren't bad this year. They lost 7 of their 10 losses by 3-5 points." Then I realized that most games are lost by less than 1 possession.

That's why I bitch about the refs so much. One bad PI call could lose an entire game.

I'm sure not saying we got screwed or are better than our record shows really. I think we lack talent all over the team. We absolutely lack depth and are keeping the same terrible head coach. I think a new OC will help as will being rested from injuries but I'm not expecting a lot as our GM doesn't have a great record of drafting either.

More often than not, bad teams lose badly and good teams don't even let the outcome come into question. When all things are equal, and the scores are close, the outcome becomes closer to 50/50 and little things can influence it, including but not limited to the refs. When you lose or win a lot of close games, it basically just means you're mediocre because you're relying more on chance to win than anything else.

And because it's expected of me, that's why I'm expecting a bit of a resurgance next year from the Cowboys. Without Romo they were close in more than half their losses and in 2014 they basically won by over a TD in 2/3s of their wins. They allowed less to chance. If you figure your franchise QB is worth at least an extra TD a game, then they lost enough close games to turn that 4-12 record into 10-6.

Henry has to work on that a lot, he is in more of the mold of AP.
I get what you're saying here, in that AP doesn't catch the ball and it's a limitation, but I don't watch Henry and see anything resembling the back AP was at Oklahoma from an NFL prospect perspective. AP was really killing it that junior year, in a more dynamic fashion, up until his collarbone injury.

Henry is very north and south with little to no lateral ability. He isn't close to AP's league.

Zero Bama backs under Saban have been very successful in the NFL for a reason.

Play style also comes into play there. When Cowboys were good, they were just dominating time of possession. So then by the end of the game, the opponent's defense was completely gassed while theirs was relatively fresh. You saw the opposite this year when their tard of the week QB couldn't sustain drives and their defense always collapsed at the very end.

I would not assume Bree's is going to restructure since he has been resistant to that in the past.
Brees has already said he is willing to restructure. Really its in his best interests as he also wants an extension. My guess is the biggest hurdle in renegotiating this off season is the saints will want to offer a 2 yr extension, but Brees will want a 3 yr extension.

Preemptive welcome to Cards fans. Palmer must have not wanted to return to the Bay area on account of the nightmares from his Raider days.

Trying to remember last year, are we suggesting Dallas won the offseason by bringing in Hardy and losing Murray?

All I remember is the Skins making smarter, cheaper free agent signings, and everyone liking their draft. Now people REALLY like that draft.
Response from the other NFL thread as it belongs here instead of there where only two teams are worthy of discussion.

When it comes down to it, a lot of people didn't like the Cowboys' 2015 offseason moves, Hardy chief among them. However, when it comes down to it, they certainly didn't hurt the team as much as people liked to think. McFadden, once he took over the starter job, ended up 4th in the league in rushing despite being in a limited role the first few weeks of the season so losing Murray was a wash and McFadden was significantly cheaper. Hardy wasn't quite the force people expected of him, but he still contributed and ended up second on the team with 6 sacks. Their FA acquisition for the last three years has been to sign players to help fill in holes and then approach the draft with a best player available mindset (Jerry's fascination with JFF notwithstanding). Quite a few talking heads haven't caught on to this and summarily bashed the Cowboys for doing very little. Especially for Running Back.

It takes a few years to really get a good sense of a draft but Jones was outstanding and played literally every secondary position at one point or another. Gregory got injured and never was quite right, but rookie pass rushers can take a year to get going. Rest of the draft is yet to be determined but I'm hoping their Tackle (Green) will compete with Free this offseason for the RT spot. Oh, and then they picked up Collins as a UDFA giving them a 3rd first round talent and he definitely showed flashes of that once he took over for Leary.

But back to the initial topic. People were lukewarm on their offseason moves, kind of liked the draft, and kept up a revolving door of "Veteran RB to the Cowboys" rumors. They still remained in the conversation with regards to being a good team in the NFC but by the end of preseason it was the Eagles who were touted as the team to beat, not the Cowboys. Then things promptly went to shit, as things are wont to do when your franchise QB and franchise WR go down with injuries.

I believe NFCE will be pretty competitive with each other in 2016. Outside of the division remains to be seen.

Cowboys really did have a good offseason. Even if you don't agree with the players they signed, their cap is in a really good place right now and they owe less than a million in dead money.

patriots need O-Line help- they just fired their O-Line Coach because for 2 YEARS he sucked wind coaching the line (pats o-line got better last year cuz they brought back scarnechia(he retired) to "consult")

100% of the pats Offensive problems sunday were due to the extremely poor O-Line Play Vs the Denver front 4.. it was horrific
