I can't wrap my head around the Marvin Lewis news. In what world do they think things are suddenly going to change and turn around for Cincy?

I'm pretty sure everyone saw the Carson Palmer news coming. He wasn't very good last year, and he wasn't very good this year before he got hurt either. Times are changing in the NFC West. Looking forward to Jimmy G and Goff battling it out for NFC West supremacy for years to come!

I wish I could Picard your post indefinitely. What a fucking joke.

Well at least you can take some comfort in the fact they never quit on him. They crushed playoff dreams back to back at the end of the season.

I still think its lunacy but small victories I guess?

The Bengals crush playoff dreams every year. This year it wasn't just their own.

Yeah that is true, and obviously you already have your franchise QB. However, there are suddenly a lot of holes to fill. Offensive line, running back, and the I expect the defense to go through a pretty major makeover. Will they retain Sherman and Bennett? Is Chancellor going to be forced into retirement? What about Avril?

Clearly the Seahawks have a great front office, and they'll figure out how to reload some of that. But the piece that made them great for these past several years, the Legion of Boom, has most likely seen its last days.

I for one am hoping they stay relevant, because I'd love the 49ers to finally beat them again, and not have to hear it's because the Seahawks suck.

I think they keep Sherman, not so sure about Bennet. Our D will almost definitely look different from years past, but I think we are okay at corner with the rookie that got significant playing time that we drafted last year Griffin. I think Frank Clark will take up the slack that Bennet leaves. I think the safety that has filled in for Chancellor while he was injured, who I dont expect back along with Avril, will fill in well for him. He isn't the hitter that Kam was but he plays the position well. So I think our D will look different but there won't be a huge step down. There obviously will be one but not as big as some might think.

Our O however is the big question. We have a franchise QB for sure, but we have a revolving door at the RB position due to injuries and our O line isn't good. There are rumors Cable is a strong contender for the Indy job and i hope he gets it, but if he doesn't I hope we fire him and get some new blood at O line coach.

I want to be good as well. As much as I didnt like Harbaugh I LOVED the games between us during that limited time. They were such good games, I always looked forward to them because i knew they would be a test. I hated the Rams because it felt like Fisher felt his only job was to beat the Seahawks once a year then cheap shot the fuck out of us in the 2nd to purposely injure us(hai2u Greg Williams hope you rot in fucking hell). I hope that changes because I like competitive division games and we have had it far too easy the past few years.

I just read a statement from Pete Carroll saying it's going to be tough for either Avril or Chancellor to play again.

Sounds like early retirement

Yeah I listened to his final radio show of the season today at work. Its not surprising to me, its why I said they won't be back probably at least if they are smart. He said in the show that its a 'quality of life' decision for those 2. I hope they make the right one.

or go play 1 last year in NE, good slot receivers thrive in that system

I have no love for the Pats but Fitz should have done that years ago after Kurt Warner retired. He might not have done what Randy Moss did in 2007, but I'd pencil him in for 1200+ yds and 10 TD's every season he was there.

I hate that seachickens as much as anyone. Best of life for them tho, hope they do the right thing and retire if the coach is saying such things.

Yeah I don't think anyone could fault him if he went to the Pats for a year and got a ring, I wouldn't even be mad, dude deserves it. He's said in several media interviews though that he's going to stay a Cardinal and retire with them.

Which is respectable, but unlike a lot of older stars that need rings Fitz actually has some good miles left in that tank. You wouldn't be getting him just for the respect he has earned, but you'd also be getting a number one slot guy with tons of game knowledge.

I agree. I think it's safer if they all retire and let the stadium sit a couple decades just to be sure.
